About this product
Femmes d'Espagne (Spanish Women) is a tribute to eight composers, most of whom are also pianists, who made Andalusia their musical homeland and spread it all over the world. Just as she usually does in her piano recitals, the versatile Paula Coronas has united in this record acclaimed authors with others not yet much known and in need for a revival of their music, thus emphasizing her unwavering personal commitment to Spanish music of the last two centuries. The interpretations of the malagueña (a traditional flamenco variety from Málaga), forged from the extensive knowledge of the foremost works of piano literature, dignify and update these pages. This recording means a contribution for future generations to gain an understanding and to become aware of the historical relevance of those figures that ennobled the meridional folkloric music styles and turned them into a distinctly Spanish pianism a genuine and extraordinary music art.

On his debut album, Stefan Koim presents compositions from the Baroque to modern times, the connecting element of which is a creative adaptation of Spanish music traditions - an adaptation that could take on different forms in individual cases while in Johann Sebastian Bach's Ciaccona from the 2nd violin partita Spanish reference points on a formal level are remarkable - the Ciaccona is originally a Spanish folk dance - folkloric elements for the Spanish composers Fernando Sor, Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo represent an important aspect of their respective personal styles. And the French composer Tristan Murail finally realized his sound ideas on the guitar, using playing techniques from Spanish flamenco music in his work Tellur. It is remarkable that the reception of elements of Spanish music happened in all cases either via France or in direct engagement with the influences of French music or the music of French composers Bach, for example, based his composition on a French form model of the Ciaccona, Sor was just spending the most productive years of his life in the center of French music life, in Paris. de Falla, in turn, dedicated his work to the French composer Claude Debussy and Rodrigo, as well as Mu-rail, developed their personal styles in dealing with current trends in French musical life. With this mixture of Spanish and French elements, the compositions on this album once again point to the close connection between the various musical styles in Europe, even across national borders.

Never Give Up is Partner's second full-length album, following 2017's In Search of Lost Time. In the years since their first , the band has developed their Inchpost classic rockInch sound, trading their 90s rock influences, for deep power grooves, bona fide guitar heroics, and big-hearted vocals from singers Josée Caron and Lucy Niles. Partner deliver a more anthemic, kinder, queerer boogie, for all who love the perfect riff, the perfect drum fill, for all whom Rock is their rock.Hello And Welcome (2 26)Rock Is My Rock (2 18)The Pit (3 21)Honey (3 17)Big Gay Hands (3 10)Good Place to Hide (At The Time) (3 23)Rollercoasters (Life is One) (3 21)Couldn't Forget (2 27)Here I Am World (2 45)Crocodiles (2 49)
