About this product
This album emerged from the idea of focusing attention on a new saxophone and piano repertoire, which, although fully contemporary and modern, has an inspiration and aesthetic side based on chamber music tradition. Aspects such as the pure sonority, the liking for color and details, the interaction of these instruments and communication through a linear language sustained by melody and rhythm, make of these works Inchnew classicsInch of the repertoire. This project includes mostly first world recordings, and therefore leads to the opening of a performing path that will surely be long and varied, and may offer many and diverse approaches in the future. After all, a recording is just a photograph of an instant. The attempt to capture the volatile essence of a physically ephemeral but spiritually everlasting art. Music, like the one included in this album, like life, diverse and variable. Thus this work which is flexible, eclectic... alive. Album Tracks 1. Le Tomeau de Ravel 2. Back to Bach 3. Sonate 4. Clos Guinget 5. Nuee Ardente 6. Homentage a Lorca

When Sonny Rollins entered the studio to record Saxophone Colossus, one of his more acclaimed albums as a leader, on June 22, 1956, he had already been a regular member of the celebrated Max Roach-Clifford Brown Quintet for half a year. This fact also explains the presence of Roach. Four days later, that group would no longer exist, for on June 26 both Clifford Brown and the band's pianist Ritchie Powell were killed in a tragic car accident. Age 26, Rollins was already a well known jazz figure. He had recorded some albums as a leader but, above all, he had been part of one of the most outstanding combos of the period the Miles Davis Quintet. THE COMPLETE ALBUM - 180-GRAM CRYSTAL CLEAR VINYL - LIMITED EDITION Album Tracks 1. Saint Thomas 6 42 (Sonny Rollins) 2. You Don't Know What Love Is 6 24 (Don Raye-Gene de Paul) 3.
