Beginning in the early 1980's, remixer/producer Tony Moran and friend Albert Cabrera developed a new process of making records creating re-edited versions of hit songs spliced together to produce instant dance hits. The duo became known as InchThe Latin RascalsInch and enjoyed major air-play on New York dance radio WKTU's popular mix show. The duo went on to write and produce the Cover Girl's hit InchShow Me,Inch which helped to usher in the freestyle era of music, buoyed by great lyrics, awesome melodies and bangin' beats. Moran went on to become one of the world's leading remixers, producing tracks for countless artists including Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Madonna, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey, to name a few. Presented here is a comprehensive overview of Moran's various hit projects including the Cover Girls, Concept of One, the Latin Rascals and his work with freestyle vocal stars Noel, Safire, Carlos Berrios and TKA. All selections newly remastered.

Sounds of New Music is a collection of 18 compositions from the 1920s to the mid-1950s representing attempts at a new means of musical expression. Some use familiar instruments in new ways, while others experiment with new instruments; the formats of the compositions range from structured musical scores written for orchestra to electronically altered music using tape-recording devices. Composers include Edgard Varese, Henry Cowell, and John Cage, whose Dance is played on a transformed Steinway piano that gives the music an almost primitive quality.
