About This Item

A leading figure of the Italian Baroque, Alessandro Scarlatti was renowned for his expressive melodies and rich counterpoint. A pivotal architect of the Neapolitan opera school, he helped codify harmonic and structural innovations that laid the groundwork for the Classical style. His influence resonated through the works of composers such as Handel and Haydn, and deeply shaped the artistry of his son Domenico.
