Recorded in 1964 by Harm A. Drost, this album demonstrates the evolving developments in artificial voice creation after the removal of the larynx. After a growing interest in artificial voice production, Drost deemed that InchA phonograph record demonstrating some of these forms of speech in which sounds are created without the use of vocal cords therefore seemed to US a useful contribution.Inch the album walks the listener through the different available methods. Liner notes include detailed information on each method demonstrated in the tracks.

This collection of 15 tracks comprises the second volume of a two-volume set of recordings made in the first decade of the 20th century on Edison recording cylinders. The recordings are from the private collection of George A. Blacker, who also provided background information about them in the liner notes. Although the recordings contain surface noise, the sound quality of the Edison cylinders is InchsuperiorInch in fidelity to that of disc records of the time. This volume includes a political speech by Theodore Roosevelt, a monologue on baseball by Miss Ray Cox, instrumental and vocal songs, and a song about the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks.

Sounds of New Music is a collection of 18 compositions from the 1920s to the mid-1950s representing attempts at a new means of musical expression. Some use familiar instruments in new ways, while others experiment with new instruments; the formats of the compositions range from structured musical scores written for orchestra to electronically altered music using tape-recording devices. Composers include Edgard Varese, Henry Cowell, and John Cage, whose Dance is played on a transformed Steinway piano that gives the music an almost primitive quality.
