We're back with another installment of 'Badass Funk from the Disco Boogie Era' with 'Supafunkanova Volume 3', which has been selected by prolific DJ, producer, remixer, and record collector Woody Bianchi. Woody digs deep into his collection, compiling a high-quality album filled with lesser-known disco, funk and boogie. As the title suggests, 'Supafunkanova Volume 3' focuses on the funkier end of the 70's & 80's, showcasing some of the bumpier grooves recorded in the disco era when even James Brown had to take notice of the Saturday Night Fever inspired disco explosion. It will come as no surprise to hear some particularly hard to find gems have been unearthed here, and ones that aren't just rare and expensive (if you can even find a copy!) but genuinely merit being re-issued. With expansive sleeve notes by Woody himself to give you an in depth insight to the music, artists and personal discovery of each record. We've been working on Volume Three for some time now, as the first and second installments were released way back in 2007 & 2015 respectively. It takes a while to put these albums together, tracking down the owners of these musical gems, finding the right image for the sleeve... but it's finally come together. Once again Z Records gives outstanding value with 16 tracks on Double Gatefold Vinyl. As always with ZR compilations a lot of time and effort has been spent on creating these masters from the original vinyl, cleaning them up, removing all the clicks and pops resulting in the cleanest sounding copy possible.Tracklisting A1. Chosen Few - Dancin' All Over The World A2. The Freex Machine - Freex Funkatized A3. Nzimande All Stars - Sporo Disco (Woody Bianchi Edit) A4. The Firebolts - Firebolt Hustle B1. Aggression - Tag (Woody Bianchi Edit) B2. The Movers - Onthekele Beer (Jwala) B3. World - You Got The Power B4. Joe and Lee - Black Gold Disco Moving Machine C1

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8.
