2007 reissue of this collection of rare music library recordings.. When this was originally released in 1996, the idea of a compilation of '60s and '70s music library tracks never intended for commercial seemed a little unusual. However, over a decade later the genre is still popular, vindicated by similar compilations from other labels, and a new wave of dedicated collectors and fans (including a cult following overseas, especially in Japan). Featuring the cream of the KPM Music Library writers including Keith Mansfield, Alan Hawkshaw, Alan Parker and Johnny Pearson, Exclusive Blend Volume 1 sees Blow Up's founder and DJ Paul Tunkin taking US on a journey deep into the library's vaults. From the pounding up-tempo of 'Move, Move, Move' through the Hammond-heavy 'Beat Me 'Til I'm Blue' and 'Rocky Mountain Runabout' (versions of both featuring on the legendary Mohawks 'The Champ' album) to the sitar '60s club sound of 'Delhi Discotheque'. Blow Up.

A rather better actor than he was a singer, Jess Conrad always seemed to have tongue firmly in cheek as far as his singing career was concerned, although he has continued to enjoy popularity as a live performer for more than sixty years. During 1960-62 he made the UK charts with 'Cherry Pie', 'Mystery Girl' and 'Pretty Jenny', while sides like 'I Wanna Love My Life Away', 'Rag Doll' and 'Twist My Wrist' were also big fans' favourites. However, his most popular number remains the notorious 'This Pullover', which Kenny Everett elevated to cult status when it was voted InchThe World's Worst RecordInch on his 1977 Capital Radio show. This compilation features everything that Jess recorded for Decca Records between 1960-62, including all his hits and well-known sides plus, as a bonus track, Paul Evans' US hit version of the deathless 'This Pullover'.
