About this product

Siberia is known for it's vast distances and the unfathomable dimensions of it's unspoiled landscapes of rivers and lakes, forests and mountains, and tundra and taiga. The city of Krasnoyarsk is at the center of Eurasia between Moscow and Beijing and has a surprisingly vibrant musical life. In 2019, the city commissioned two works by Enjott Schneider, one of Germany's most multifaceted composers. For the InchAsia-Siberia-Europe FestivalInch, Schneider composed InchSpirits of SiberiaInch for trumpet, strings, and percussion. In this work, trumpet virtuoso Reinhold Friedrich embodies the world of shamanistic mysteries. In the piece's four movements, the soloist conjures the Siberian flora and fauna with mystical sound worlds that take us far beyond the reality of our normal physical senses. InchLeporello & GiovanniInch was commissioned by the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The double continent of Eurasia is symbolized in this double concerto by double bass and contrabass balalaika played by two of the world's finest virtuosos Artem Chirkov, the principal double bass player of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, and Mikhail Dzyudze, whose innovations have brought the balalaika from folk music into the classical concert halls of the world. The music moves against the background of Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, with the soloists energetically personifying the complicated relationship between Don Giovanni and his servant Leporello.

Sharon Kam is one of the world's leading clarinetists. For her debut album on Orfeo (and performing for the first time in this trio line-up), she delivers a dramatic, sharply contrasting programme that is presented chronologically. Performing with her brother Ori Kam (viola) and the pianist Matan Porat, the programme begins and ends with music by Mozart and Bartók, the latter's Contrasts producing possibly the most original and captivating contribution to the repertoire for this combination of instruments. In between are works by Schumann and Brahms that contain multi-layered biographical references and are closely related in their romantic spirit. InchSharon Kam is a clarinetist with an exceptionally wide expressive range.Inch (Edward Greenfield)

From the very first note, violinist Annette Unger's new GENUIN album will captivate you with an eclectic program featuring early and contemporary music from Dresden, full of electrifying contrasts. The oldest composition is by Bach contemporary Johann Georg Pisendel, while the most recent by Manfred Weiss was premiered by Annette Unger as recently as 2015. Aside from Pisendel's great work, all the other pieces in this production are world premiere recordings. Annette Unger, who plays flawlessly and with a wealth of color, presents a kaleidoscope of violinistic possibilities, compositional ideas, and intellectual approaches to music, intimately connected to the musical city of Dresden.
