With Herd, pianist Vera Kappeler and percussionistPeter Conradin Zumthor present on Intakt Records theirlong-awaited second duo album after their acclaimed 2014debut Babylon-Suite.Kappeler/Zumthor is an exceptionally innovative duo. Theyare bubbling over with ideas, yet take their time to developnew programs, working with the utmost care. They areoriented towards international innovation in the borderarea of jazz and new music and have a huge artistic potential, which the two of them exploit brilliantly on Herd. Theircommon sound cosmos surprises with playfulness and apeculiarity that reaches into the bizarre. With exceptionalmusical and technical skills, they have, over the years. They developed their very own musical language and aremasters at telling stories with their music.Author Reto Hänny writes in the literary liner notes, burningstrong images into the reader's mind in a language thatcarries a lot of music and flow InchWhat else is there to sayexcept that I like this music and to repeat it endlessly; itsings, it sings, again and again, touching, stirring, heart -breakingly beautiful.Inch
