Via were a late-1980s postpunk band formed in Boston by Thalia Zedek (Come, Uzi) and Jerry di Rienzo (Cell, Nuclear Theater), with James Apt (Six Finger Satellite), Adam Gaynor (Nuclear Theater) and Phil Milstein. The stuff of indie rock legend, the band recorded a handful of songs and played two blistering shows before splintering, the band members going their own ways, with Zedek and diRienzo forming the legendary Come and Cell. This archival project presents a recently-unearthed collection of six songs recorded in a basement studio in 1987. The only recorded output from the band, listening is like opening a time capsule, fresh songs from indie rock legends just beginning to discover themselves. Liner notes by Chris Brokaw (Come, Codeine), who says InchThe music bears some cosmetic resemblances to Sonic Youth, but the songs were way more raw, primal, seething, coiled - inexorable. 2017 . Vaiya's third album Remnant Light is an aggressive ritual banishment of the darkest aspects of the ego. A progression upward toward the light and away from that which drags us down. Told through three thirteen minute tracks, Remnant Light seeks to exalt the journey toward bliss and repel the darkness that aims to destroy true being. This album is a more straight forward black metal record than the two previous Vaiya releases, which were written specifically for live ritual. Performance, thus, there is more emphasis put on dense atmosphere and layered instrumentation.

The unearthing of Telemann's Fantaisies pour la Basse de Viole in 2015 has been the most important discovery for the repertoire of viola da gamba in recent times. The compositions are a compendium of how Italian and French influences permeated the purely German language to create a specific style. Using the genre Fantasia, Telemann shows us a portrait full of audacity, freshness and compositional freedom hitherto unknown. Sara Ruiz plays on an anonymous viola da gamba dated around 1700. She chooses to emphasize the rotundness and the beauty of the tone, while her technical skills allow her to create a real drama. She does not hesitate to make use of a nice legato where a pleasant melody is encountered she makes her instrument sing almost like a cello, i.e. a voice. With her, each Fantasia tells a story, every time a particular and thrilling one.
