A: I think these can hold about 70 to 80 albums in each box but it depends on if your albums are single or double LP sets of course. Currently I have 68 in one box with room to flip them back and forth to see the titles and easily pull them out and reinsert them back into the box. The records sit out the top of the box by about 1 to 2 inches so you can't really stack these without have the box on top actually sitting on the records that are in the box on the bottom which would damage your records in the bottom box over time.
A: The width would be a tad wider than the width of an album, I would guess, so probably a bit more than 12.5 inches.
