Victrola - Stream Onyx - Works with Sonos - Black

I already had a multi-room Sonos setup, so when shopping for a turntable, this caught my eye because it didn't require me to invest in additional speakers. The setup and connection with Sonos is super easy through the Victrola app. I can control the system volume on the turntable itself or using the Sonos app. Since I'm streaming to my speakers I can put the turntable anywhere I like which was great since I didn't have a good spot for it in my living room. Overall the sound quality is really great and the auto on/off controlled by the arm is a great feature. I have experienced some dropped connections, which happens with Sonos, and I assume if I hard wired it to my router it would solve it.

This turntable works really well with the Sonos system but the app can be a little finicky at times when you are first learning to use it. I had to return the first unit I bought because it would not connect to the wifi or Sonos. The second one works and I am enjoying playing my vinyls all throughout the house.

The quality of the sound it produces is phenomenal, but the fact that if can’t wirelessly connect with with any kind of speaker except Sonos speakers is a really limiting feature.

When it works, it's nice. When it doesn't, it's the most frustrating listening experience. It's like back when your CD player used to skipped except it's more frequent. I bought this for the Sonos connection. I have decent internet in my home but don't have fiber available in my neighborhood. I think the lack of fiber internet significantly affects the connection to my Sonos system. That said, this product should have a line in option to connect to Sonos but it doesn't - especially for the price. I have my wifi connection directly next to the turntable and at one point even fed a line into the back of it but neither of those have helped the connection. I don't have any issues streaming other audio apps to my Sonos system directly from my phone ever (Spotify, TuneIn, etc.) but this turntable struggles to stay in connection and sometimes even when it does work the audio quality is poor. The app support doesn't give you much and is basic - I tinkered with all the settings. Also, for the price, there should be a dust shield to put over the top while playing. If you have fiber internet and a unique setup that requires a wifi connection, consider the product. But even with that, there are so many better options for the price.
