When reading reviews I noticed that appliances of all types get mostly negative reviews. I wanted to posted a positive one. I got nearly 25 years of satisfying use from my 30" inch all gas Viking stove installed when we built our home in 2000. I did a LOT of research before buying. I am so very happy that I went with the series 5 dual fuel, even though I needed to install 220 wiring to make it happen. The series 5 looks absolutely amazing and the burners perform beautifully like my old viking-but upgraded with wonderful new features. The burners are sealed which makes cleaning substantially easier while maintaining a sleek professional look. I had a lot of boil over while cooking pasta and I like that there is no drip reservoir below the burners. It was a hassle to clean. The grates allow easy movement of pans between burners. A griddle is an available option. The series 5 dual fuel has self-clean-a real bonus for me (I think it is also available on the all gas model). I am so very impressed with the evenness of baking in the electric oven. Far superior to my old all gas viking- even when it was brand new. So far, I love the oven and control lights. The soft close door is very nice. I paid for installation and would highly recommend that option even though my husband is very handy. Make sure the installers wire the stove properly during installation according to the instructions that are in the booklet. There are two issues that can be addressed during installation that will save you space allowing you to get the stove closer to the wall. 1. The unit needs to be wired according to the manufacturer instructions. Proper wiring will save you about an inch of space in the back, over improper wiring. 2. There is a generous indentation in the back of the stove (left when facing the stove) which allows the gas piping and hose to tuck inside. This will give you another inch or so closer to the wall. I ordered the 4 inch optional backsplash which is being delivered and installed soon.

This range is the real deal. Super high quality. And everything is accurate. The burners go from very very hot to a very low simmer. And the oven works to perfection. We ordered the 8" backsplash to go with it, which made it look better. Expensive but built to last.

It was installed on December 23, and today we noticed that the door doesn't close properly and the oven light is staying on. Not a great start to a very expensive oven experience.
