About This Item

Violence Fog, a very short-lived but powerful psychedelic rock band from Baden-Baden, Germany, formed in 1969. The lineup included Wolfgang Höfer (vocals/flute), Karl-Heinz Höfer (guitar/flute/vocals), Enno Dernov (guitar), Hilmar Beine (bass), and Herbert Brandmeier (drums). Their music mixed raw, fuzz-laden guitar tones and British/American-influenced bluesy solos into a sound that ranged from energetic riffing to moody and hypnotic psych jams. The band soon built up a devoted local fan base and often played in youth centers, music clubs, and even at film premieres, where their trippy psychedelic light show accompanied their live performances. Their repertoire included both originals and covers of songs like InchPaint It Black.Inch Violence Fog were growing in notoriety when they recorded five numbers at SWF Radio's Studio U1 in Baden-Baden on April 23, 1971, documenting their energetic interplay of dizzying dual-lead guitars, volume dynamics, and a vibey rhythm section. Despite their talent and rising recognition, Violence Fog disbanded shortly after completing the SWF recordings, largely due to other professional obligations. Guitarist Enno Dernov and drummer Herbert Brandmeier continued their musical journey, joining the band Jud's Gallery-then Dernov later leaving to join Brainstorm. Meanwhile, the Höfer brothers shifted their focus to folk music, exploring a different path. Though their time together was brief, Violence Fog remains a captivating chapter in Germany's vibrant psychedelic rock history. Album Tracks 1. New One 2. Rolli Zink 3. Leisure 4. Town Child Baby 5. Brother Where Are You
