Vitalic - OK Cowboy 20Y - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This performance, recorded October 14, 1975 came after Doug had temporarily retired the Sir Douglas name, but features original member Meyer along with musical compadres Martin Steitle, John Barber, Steve McDaniels and Harry Hess. All the Sir Douglas Quintet classics are here, including InchMoverInch, InchMendocinoInch and InchRainInch, and Doug ventures into other musical territory ranging from T-Bone Walker to Bob Wills. This CD captures all the hits and more and includes songs that were never aired on the original TV broadcast.

The Greatest Story Ever Told is the fourth studio album by The Lawrence Arms, originally released in 2003. A concept album of sorts, it follows a linear storyline and has several songs which call back to or refer to others. The album includes extensive liner notes with footnotes to the lyrics that detail the many literary and pop culture references. It's title is a direct reference to the movie The Greatest Story Ever Told, a 1965 film about the life of Jesus.
