I had been researching the grains container since I purchased my Vitamix last summer. Best Buy ran a special (at a phenomenal price) so I couldn't pass it up. The regular container can suffice for making flours, but the grains container is designed for that purpose. My next flour? Quinoa.

Vitamix clearly states that this container is for dry grains only. However, I read some reviews from another website and buyers mentioned that they were able to blend wet ingredients in this jar. Since Best Buy doesn't sell the 32 oz container for wet ingredients, I decided to give this one a try. I attempted to make an Acai smoothie, and it was very challenging. So, in case you were wondering if you could use this for both wet and dry ingredients, I thought I'd let you know... Dry ingredients only!

The container is for dry grains, but it blends well with wet ingredients too. If the user concerns about the warranty, use it for only dry ingredients.

I have had the clear lid before, but much prefer the rubber. Less dust escapes. Vitamin does really good with there metal components, but the “plunger “ thing was much better years ago. This one is a light thin plastic. Do not like it. I also do not like the fact that the container itself will scratch when grinding things like rice.

Love it! I got it for my explorian series blender. The reverse vote. Allows for me to grind into powders, flours, etc. If I use the wet container it’ll turn those things into butters and such.

This container makes flour quickly and easily. It can also make your vitamix double as a food processor. Very versatile.

The dry grains container works really fast. In my old blender, I had to run it several times to make oat flour from dry oats. In my Vitamix dry grains container, it took less than one minute. Awesome!

What a difference this grinder does. I bought it specifically for making my pizza dough and now I’m grinding all sorts of grains definitely replacing the food processor with this.

We originally ordered this to grind wheat berries and found that it also actually works much better for making our peanut butter than the other container does- very happy with this purchase!

Very pleased. Received on time in good condition. I have been wanting a dry grains container to go along with my Vitamix. Price is in line with other retailers.

If you get a Vitamix blender this is a must for blending dry stuff like peanuts for butters and the like.

The dry grains container is a necessary accessory. The booklet that comes with it, opened up the additional possibilities of using a great blender. I have a friend who needs to stay gluten free, so when I cook for her, I can make brown and white rice flours as well as other gluten free flours. No other blender can handle this possibility.

You could grind dry items in the Wet Vitamix 64oz container that comes with most models but this prevents any scratching on most dry items (except wood-based like cinnamon).

Works very well mixing dry ingredients. Little on the pricey side though for a container

Bought it to go with my vitamix so I can make a wider variety of healthy foods for my family.
