Svend Simon Schultz (1913-1998) is one of the most remarkable Danish composers and as a conductor he made a significant contribution to Danish songs, not least during his 30 years as head of the Danish Radio Chamber Choir. He was constantly composing and wrote music for movies, chamber ensemble and especially for choir. Svend S. Schultz made a stamp on Danish choral music which is still beaming today. His songs are known by every Dane and his production probably one of the most encompassing of all Danish composers. This is the first of a project to record all his nearly 90 choral songs, all of them musically and technically on the highest possible level. The brilliant Akademisk Kor Århus, conducted by Jonas Rasmussen, is now presenting volume 1 of 5 volumes. Each with a mix of songs and all with the full texts of the poems in the booklet.

Brahms wanted to write music that would offer some support hope for those near him, comfort for the living; and not with a somber funeral march. Initially, he gave his composition the title Ein menschliches Requiem (A Human Requiem). The monumental composition for orchestra and choir that would become Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) lies far from that intimate beginning. But Brahms did not forget his initial plan he even transcribed a version for piano 4 hands, soloists and choir transparent, intimate, colorful and, most importantly, very personal. In search of the man who was Brahms, we weave some childhood memories of his good friend Schumann in between the movements of the Requiem his Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood). Album Tracks 1. IV. Ein Bittendes Kind - Kinderszenen, Op. 15 2. I. Seling Sind, Die Da Leid Tragen - Ein Deutsches Requiem, Op. 45 3. VII. Am Kamin - Kinderszenen, Op. 15 4. II. Denn Alles Fleisch, Es Ist Wie Gras - Ein Deutsches Requiem, Op. 45 5. XII. Kind Im Einschlummern - Kinderszenen, Op. 15 6. III. Herr, Lehre Doch Mich 7. XIII. Der Dichter Spricht 8. IV.
