Vulcano - Anthropophagy - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Reissue 2024, booklet, poster, Transfer, audio restoration and mastering by Patrick W. Engel at TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY in May 2024. Hailed as one of the founders of the South American extreme metal scene, Vulcano came to be in 1981 in São Paulo, Brazil. Struggling with a non-existent infrastructure for this kind of music, the band released their debut EP InchOm Pushne NamahInch in 1983, which was sung in Portuguese and followed by InchLive!Inch in 1985, the first metal live album ever published in Brazil. InchAt the beginning, everything was very different and precarious here in BrazilInch, mastermind Zhema remembers. InchNobody knew exactly how to write a metal song like the Europeans, so we did it our way - no good instruments, no good amplifiers, no recording studios, no audio engineers.Inch In 1986, the five-piece unleashed their first full length InchBloody VengeanceInch, which was indeed recorded and mixed within 24 hours by Vulcano themselves. Rivalling even the ringleaders from that time - say, Slayer and Kreator - in terms of ferocity, the album quickly became an underground classic and has maintained this status ever since. It is thus a no-brainer that High Roller Records, who already released the group's 2004 LP InchTales from the Black BookInch on vinyl in 2012, have prepared the ultimate reissue of InchBloody VengeanceInch, faithfully restored and remastered by Patrick W. Engel, who Inchbrought all the audibility that should have been there back in 1986Inch according to Zhema. InchBloody VengeanceInch saw multiple re-releases throughout the years, which were subpar on all levels, particular with regards to the sound. Be prepared to finally experience it as it was meant to be in the first place! Album Tracks 1. Dominios of Death 2. Spirits of Evil 3. Ready to Explode 4. Holocaust 5. Incubus 6. Death Metal 7. Voices from Hell 8. Bloody Ven

Reissue 2024, poster, booklet, Remastered by Patrick W. Engel at TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY in June 2024. After InchAnthropophagyInch (1987) and InchWho Are the TrueInch (1988), Vulcano entered the 1990s heeding the signs of the times without compromising their initial brutality. As a result, the band's fifth album InchRatraceInch perfectly balances thrashing madness with a more contemporary, midtempo approach. InchI was really incredulous about how he managed to save that album, Inch band leader Zhema comments on Patrick W. Engel's restored and remastered version on the original tapes. InchThe vocals, guitars and bass - everything is finally more defined!Inch And after frequent bad luck with both recording studios and labels, the Brazilian extreme metal forerunners found a capable partner in High Roller Records to reissue InchRatraceInch. The album, which saw a glorious return of guitarist Soto Jr. († 2001) from the line-up of the group's seminal debut InchBloody VengeanceInch (1986), would be their last for 14 years but an impressive temporary farewell no less. With tracks like the two-minute barrage 'Welcome to the Army' or the similarly frantic 'White Violence' set against more chunky stuff such as 'Just a Matter of Time', InchRatraceInch is a forgotten thrash gem to be (re-)discovered! Album Tracks 1. White Violence 2. Last Day 3. Blind Science 4. Welcome to the Army 5. Time to Change 6. Ratrace 7. The Lungs of the Earth 8. Just a Matter of Time 9. In the Mirror

In the course of High Roller's select back catalogue reissues from Vulcano, the tag also releases a remastered version of the band's latest full-length InchEpilogueInch, which was self-published by mastermind Zhema in early 2024. The group's 13th longplayer sees the core duo - guitarist/main songwriter Zhema guitars and singer Luiz Carlos Louzada have been working together since 1997 - in top form, highlighting their unique chemistry. InchI have no one who could replace Luiz Carlos,Inch, Zhema ponders. InchI give him a vocal line, and he returns it much improved, it's just impressive!Inch Given the high intensity of the material, which leaves nothing but scorched earth in less than 30 minutes, one has to wonder why the Brazilian legends had to it on their own. InchIt had been ready since February 2024, and I offered it to record companies but didn't get any positive feedbackInch, Zhema reveals. InchOn the other hand, I believed that it deserved a vinyl pressing, so I'm happy to team up with High Roller to this effect.Inch And if you want to take the title InchEpilogueInch literally, you are mistaken, since Zhema's already working on new stuff to keep Brazil's old-school spirit alive. InchThere are bands all over the country now,Inch he concludes Inchbut progress brought a lot of technique in the execution of songs, which - In my opinion - quickly becomes boring.Inch Album Tracks 1. Prelude 2. The Wizard 3. On the Wings 4. At the Dawn 5. The Mirror 6. The Book 7. The Clock Time 8. The Renegade 9. Epilogue
