Love this one, borrowed my sisters(it was black and white only and didn't have preview screen), this was about same price as hers and rhis one came w/USB Wall Charger and w/docking station. I used my rewards points and got a greater deal! Just wish it had included a carrying case for both the scanner and docking station!

This scanner works just as I expected. It works best on items that can be sent through the document station, or on unbound pages. I purchased it knowing these limitations. I use it for genealogy research at libraries. Generally, if a book is tightly bound, or oversized, and difficult to copy...it will also be difficult to scan. The viewing window is difficult to see, but I knew that before I purchased the scanner. Of course, it takes practice. I use it with Windows 10, and it's not as straightforward as Windows 7. But it does work with Windows 10 once you learn how. I know that it will get easier with practice.

I like that the wand can be used with or without the auto-feeder. The LCD screen is nice, but not as clear when you're scanning documents. It is really nice that you don't need your computer to use it - plug it into an outlet and it scans to a memory card. I haven't even downloaded the software, because I haven't really needed it. I use an SD card reader and work with the files directly from there.

My daughter is using it to scan her drawings. So far the only complaint is, need some stabilization when using it freehand. Other than that she loves it.

I bought the scanner with the loading dock. Its easy to use and is great for downsizing all that unwanted clutter of papers, but those papers you still really want to be able to reference back to. Overall, I am satisfied with it's purpose.

The VuPoint - Magic Wand Portable Scanner is the first portable Scanner I have used and I am VERY impressed with the quality of the scans. Not only can you feed paper, picture receipts through it you can also use the top part separately to scan thicker or odd shaped items. cant think of any complaints. I have been using for photos and he results have been AMAZING! if you are on the fence about this one My advice is to go for it! you wont be disappointed.

Simple to use, up to 1200 DPI when used in the base. Don't look for bells and whistles and fancy supplied software - This scans photos and documents to a mini SDHC just fine. Goes where the documents and photos are without the computer. Use Photoshop and Acrobat to edit and enhance what you scan. A bargain because you are not paying for what you never use - supplied software! Sneaker net the Mini SDHC from the scanner to your computer and save the SDHC for future reference.

Worked fine - a couple of scans did not take as 8 1/2 by 11 and became a 4 by 11 - caught most of those - need to watch as scanning - only gives brief view of "scanned" item so need to be watching or will miss

I definitely think I got my money's worth with this scanner. The images are surprisingly clear and the thing that was most important to me was the portability.

I've used the Viewpoint Magic Wand to scan glossy photos and book pages. The scanner produces very good images; the color is very true to the color in the photos. Having a "rock steady" scanning hand isn't necessary as the speed sensor does a very good job of compensating for speed variations. It's easy to guide the scanner in a straight path and not have to be concerned with 'side-to-side" wobbles. It's also does an excellent job of scanning book pages because it slides smoothly over the page and scans the entire page, even when the print is close to the binding and the book isn't lying perfectly flat. The small plastic exposed gears (probably connected with the speed sensor somehow) on the underside can be a problem. I scanned a document on a surface that wasn't totally free of small debris (possibly very small sand grains - not readily visible but definitely there to the touch) and something became trapped in the gearing, causing the gears to stick as the unit was rolled along. Fortunately using a high-tech tool (long straight pin with a faux-pearl bulb) I was able to remove whatever was in the gears and the unit works as it should. Just a caution when using the unit - be certain the surface is as debris-free as possible. It does seem the exposed gearing could be replaced by perhaps a laser-based speed sensor not susceptible to jamming. With the above caution, I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a portable hand-held scanner. My unit came with the document-feeder docking base. I've only used this once, but it appears to work well. It's not for copying large numbers of pages, though.

Seems easy enough to setup and use. Review screen may be too small to be any use, navigation is a bit challenging as well

I purchased this for my husband who is a Semi Truck driver to use to scan his paperwork and receipts while on the road. It is easy to use, the quality is great and the speed of scanning is great! I would recommend this product.

Need to make lots of copies for work. Very easy to use.

Fast, portable, scans to a card on the go. This thing is just what you want when doing large amounts of photos or documents and time is more important than carrying the pile to your computer. Small potability and ease of use

Does everything it states, used it to scan over 1000 pictures
