About this product
Boezem ('Bosom'), the debut full-length of Dutch quintet Vuur & Zijde (InchFire & SilkInch) quite remarkably revolves around themes of conditional and unconditional love - and the difference between those, the liberation of intimacy, and motherhood. Obviously, this album politely abstains from going through the motions of tedious heavy metal cliches. Although the Dutch have deep roots in black metal and have been or still are members in such established bands as LASTER, NUSQUAMA, SILVER KNIFE, GREY AURA, WITTE WIEVEN, and TERZIJ DE HORDE, they have shifted stylistically away from their 2020 split-album with IMPAVIDA. Having grown from a trio to a 5-piece has brought a wider range of influences and ideas to the table. The changes are subtle but enough to locate a part of their sound in the evolving and exciting realms of post-black metal. The black side of the music is mainly expressed through whirling drum attacks and buzzing guitar riffs. Yet there is a second strong pillar on which InchBoezemInch rests, as bands that started out as post-punk acts and developed into more dreamy, meditative sounds such as COCTEAU TWINS and even DEAD CAN DANCE are also named as a source of inspiration. Synthesizer sounds and the beautiful voice of singer Famke naturally contribute to that side of Vuur & Zijde. The vocalist is also responsible for various lyrics penned in Frysk (Frisian). This language is still spoken in a few Dutch and German areas along the coast up to the Danish border. The other lyrics are written in Dutch. With InchBoezemInch, Vuur & Zijde achieve a perfect balance between their contradictory poles. The aggressive side with elements of black metal that have been transformed into post-black metal contrasts with the light side of shoegaze, post-punk, and wave. Both are entwined in an endless dance that creates fascinating new music, which is at the same time beautifu

Vanaheim, an international storytelling caravan, has it's roots in the land of the far sight, namely the Netherlands, in the city of Tilburg. Since their founding in 2015, the quintet has been on an everlasting journey through foreign lands, to spread folktales of their own. Already, since the first two self-released outputs, an EP in 2017 (The House Spirit) and an LP in 2022 (Een Verloren Verhaal), all eyes and ears of the scene were directed on Vanaheim. Counting as the candidate for bringing back the golden era of folk metal and for returning the genre to the glory that it once had. Een Verloren Verhaal struck the scene like a meteor and was often highlighted by the metal press as album of the year 2022. 2023 to 2025, the hype around the band lifted them onto stages of major festivals in Europe, like Graspop Metal Meeting (BE), Wacken Open Air (DE), Wave Gotik Treffen (DE), Milagre Metaleiro (PT) and enabled them to widen their audience while touring with genre veterans like Manntra, Heidevolk, Ensiferum and playing support shows for Alestorm and Equilibrium. Vanaheim paved their way into the heart of the scene and are ready to take the next big step. In the continuation of their success, the band signed a record deal with Fireflash Records, teamed up with MasterMoldMusic as their management team and found a trustful partner in RTN Touring for booking endeavors. In September 2026, Vanaheim will their highly anticipated follow-up concept album, which carries the name InchRoede voor de BorstInch together with a new band design and lyrics that tell a tragic, emotional but engaging story. The new album features top musicians like Coen Janssen of Epica and Nils Fischer of Eluveitie, who enhanced the band's sound with their performances on all new tracks. The Dutch luminary of all things symphonic and melodic metal, aka Joost van den Broek produced, recorded and mixed

Italian jazz metal trio Zu return with InchFerrum SidereumInch, an instrumental double album that continues their tradition of freely blending genres to fit their musical intentions. Their music combines the complexity of progressive rock, the grit of industrial, the precision of metal, the energy of punk, and the intelligence of jazz. The result is a sonic journey that is as cerebral as it is visceral, defying easy categorisation while remaining unmistakably Zu. InchFerrum SidereumInch, which translates from Latin as Inchiron of (or from) the starsInch refers to meteoric ore, which had a deep spiritual significance in ancient times and is contained in such artifacts as Egyptian ritual objects with Tutankhamun's meteoric iron dagger as the best known example or in some Tibetan InchPhurpaInch blades. Iron coming from the stars forms the elemental base that shapes Zu's otherworldly narrative on this album. The trio spent over a year refining this proliferating 80-minute epic through relentless rehearsals and live studio recordings in the city of Bologna. It soon emerged that the tracks had to be epic and needed space to live and breathe, meaning they would not conform to today's algorithm-driven norms. The last piece of the musical puzzle fell into place when three-time Grammy-winning sound engineer Marc Urselli expressed interest in recording and potentially producing Zu's next album through a mutual friend. This opportunity immediately caught the band's attention, as they had never worked with a producer and recognized the need for someone capable of guiding them to create an 80-minute album. Band and producer balanced raw intensity with refined production tweaks and textures. The result is a contemporary, rich, and immersive sound that defines InchFerrum SidereumInch. Zu were founded in 1999 and already released their debut full-length InchBromioInch the same year. T
