About This Item

Before Waylon played bass on Buddy Holly's ill-fated last tour that also featured Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper, Jennings had been mentored by the bespectacled Lubbock rocker with Holly producing his first single 'Jole Blon,' which was released on Brunswick in 1958. That song appears here, along with 'White Lightning,' a George Jones hit, which ironically was written by J.P. 'Big Bopper' Richardson, as well as a cover of Holly's 'It's So Easy.' Other highlights of this 14 song set of early Waylon recordings include Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice (It's Alright), Abilene,' and Buck Owens Love's Gonna Live Here Again.' Fruit Tree. 2004. Album Tracks 1. Burning Memories 2. Abilene 3. Love's Gonna Live Here 4. Money (That's What I Want) 5. Don't Think Twice (It's Alright) 6. Jole Blon 7. Sally Was a Good Old Girl 8. Lorena 9.
