Purchased to replace an older 1 TB HDD drive, runs faster then the older drive, and stays mostly quiet. My only complaint is there is a mild clicking (like a soft thump sound) from the drive however this is not a malfunction but a feature of the drive that prevents excessive wearing on the drive.

This has been a good drive for me. My massive Dropbox syncs to it with plenty more room for my non-cloud backed up data. Time will tell, but the warranty is good and I've always had much better luck with Western Digital drives than any other brands. I recommend. Buy the WD drives that have the longest warranties.

If you have room in your PC case, this WD_BLACK HDD is great as a storage/backup/userdata/etc drive. Even though I use SSDs for boot/video editing/modern gaming, I use these high-quality cost-effective WD_BLACK HDDs for everything else.

A great additional storage for my Xbox series X and Ps5 consoles. Game are getting larger in file so storage is most important. I use it for extenal hard drive use. Even though its not an SSD, it is still useful for transferinf game and playing previous generation games.

Originally, I had purchased one of these from Amazon only to have it shipped as a bare naked drive in a plastic bag with no additional packaging whatsoever. Didn't even need to open it as it was clearly destroyed. After I returned that, I decided to buy it from a physical BestBuy store, eliminating the risk of shipping it to me. And yet, somehow even though it came in a box this time it was still dead on arrival when I actually tried to use it. At this point, I just gave up and bought an industrial hard drive twice this size from Target. It's got three read heads and is very loud so this 8tb WD Black is probably better for most people (assuming yours actually works).

Holds plenty of data for the price and is fast. However, it can run loud.

It's a hard drive. A big one; stores lots of data. WD is very reliable; I've used them for years. What more can I say?

Night and Day. Had a 4TB WD Black - slow, noisy. This 8TB WD Black - fast read/write, silent. The only negative, a small one, is the drive seems to park too soon after a period of no read/writes. But, once it spins up it is off to the races - soundlessly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I purchased this hard drive for my new computer to give me two Internal Hard Drives on my computer for crafting patterns, use with my Cricut machines and it is wonderful having so much storage and the ability to use more than one machine at a time.

Great SSD. Was very easy to connect to the PC and also get it configured. Speed is decent. the only reason i have taken 1 star out is that there is a noise every few seconds...which can be really irritating.

I have two hard drives wd black gaming 8tb internal Sata for desktops. I have used both and for the data I need to save, this product works and specs mentioned. I would buy another one if the need arises.

Great hard drive. It's being used as a media server, and the large capacity makes for a GREAT upgrade to what I was previously using. Would definitely recommend this to others.

They say it's the best hard disk drive for gaming. It might be, for a conventional hard disk storage option. It certainly is better than WD Gold 12 TB (touted to be the best HDD in the market ever yet), when it comes to reading/writing speed and noise levels. However, it is not fast enough for me, even for storage. After having been using SSDs for the last 5-6 years, HDDs are not my cup of tea anymore. SSDs are fast, quiet, and low-powered devices compared to HDDs. And in my opinion, they are worth the price difference. I decided to return it.

Needed a larger hard drive for PC. This hits the mark. Fast enough and quiet. Was able to just plug it in and start using

An amazing and extremely high capacity HDD. There are a few reviews out there that say it’s too loud… not sure what they are talking about. I can’t hear it at all, and being a streamer/content creator, that is super important. Im glad I didn’t end up paying attention to those reviews!

HDDs are still worth it in 2023. You can't go wrong with this if you need to store a lot of data at $20 per tb. Great read/write speeds for a traditional sata HDD. It pairs well with a fast PCIe ssd boot drive.

Great amount of storage. Still haven’t ran out.

Works as expected and is fast. No bottlenecks with 60Gb files. I don't consider it noisey. When not inuse, I can hear it make a small noisey so often, but, for me, it is not ojectionable.

So far it's great. It's been so long since I have bought a wd drive I forgot they can be a little loud at times.
