Super quiet! Surprisingly completely silent. Not many online posts emphasize hard drive noise levels, so I was worried at first. Very happy with this purchase. Just don’t know why I need all this space.

Any western digital drive I’ve purchased has been rock solid. Theyve been replacing a series of failing 12 tb seagate drives. At thenpoint i dont think ill trust another hard drice company lol. The Western digital support side is just far superior to sea gates.

High capacity CMR drive, way faster than non SMR drives, which are consistently slower regarding the type of use. What is your time worth...? And it is silent. Cherry on the cake, the drive was on sale, plus 5% back from Best Buy. What's not to like? I cannot talk about the reliability of the drive since it is new, but having used several brands of drives, CMR WD drives seem to be somewhat better than other brands... until SSDs replace all HDDs at a comparable price. Will have to wait a little bit for that.

I’ve been using the 12TB WD Professional Plus drive in my Synology NAS for a while now, and it’s performed reliably. Setup was straightforward, with no compatibility issues. The drive runs quietly and maintains reasonable temperatures, even with regular use. Performance is solid—transfers are consistent, and it handles typical NAS tasks like backups, media streaming, and file sharing without problems. I haven’t noticed any instability or early signs of wear so far. While it’s not the cheapest option on the market, the capacity and reliability make it a practical choice if you’re looking for long-term storage in a home NAS environment.

I have purchased many Western Digital drives - and these so far have lived up to the reputation. Fast and reliable. Purchased when they were on-sale - BONUS! Red Label drives are working great in all my NAS boxes. Recently retired 4TB WD Red Label drives after 4 years - no bad sectors (hoping these 12TB drives will as well). Easy on-line registration for warranty..etc A++

Great drive, reliable, and their warranty is great. I would recommend for any NAS application (QNAP, Synology, UnRAID, FreeNAS).

Quiet reliable drives. Great for home NAS. Choose these drives if you prefer quiet, if performance is more important to you then choose the Red Pro. Using in a Synology DS224+ without issue.

Perfect drives for the price! Paired with a DXP-4800 NAS running truenas scale. Plug and play - running like it was meant to. The drives haven't skipped a beat and have been perfect for consistent read and write activities, from backups to remote access and local media server streaming. Honestly these are likely to be the last thing holding your setup back for the average and also the power user.

At per GB cost, this is a great deal. I was looking for HDD for my first NAS setup and two of these hits the spot for a RAID configuration. So far, so good.

Easy to setup and configure, great speeds. I could have gone with the pro version but for the price this gave me the best bang for my bucks.

So far no issues with these drives, I put them in WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra.

Western Digital is the gold standard for drives and this is a great drive for a great price. It also lacks the recent tarnish to that gold standard, the false warnings from the WDDA after three years. Watch out for Western Digital drives that have WDDA. They will falsely report that they're failing after three years run time.
