About this product
A grimly glamorous ghoul who first slithered from the cobwebbed shadows of Charlotte, NC in the early-90s, Wednesday 13 has firmly established himself as the world's premier purveyor of balls-out horror punk insanity. With a vivid and vile imagination that has endeared him to countless fans of riff-driven macabre over the last two and a half decades, he has been one of rock's most prolific protagonists, spreading his credo of grave-robbing rock 'n' roll and Hallowe'en debauchery around the globe and unleashing a seemingly endless stream of blood-spattered albums and EPs. Napalm Records is making eight essential Wednesday 13 albums (including Gunfire 76 project) available again on vinyl in the summer of 2019! Two brand new tunes, three re-recordings of classic Wednesday 13 tunes, the acoustic version of InchCurse of MeInch and two bloodthirsty remixes fill EP Spook & Destroy to the brim! The Halloween-y EP originally got released in October 2012 and briefly satiated the hunger for the upcoming longplayer The Dixie Dead (2013).

2020 . Haunted Painting, Sad13's second album and first for Dupuis' tag Wax Nine (Melkbelly, Johanna Warren), marks her return to artmaking. InchSome of these songs feel like emotions that came from a cloud, and I was trying to translate them,Inch she says. But the scope of a Sad13 song is rarely only personal. As ever, Sad13 weaves timely societal critiques into rushing hooks and whip-smart wordplay that's all still a blast riffer InchWTDInch is about climate gentrification and billionaires' consequent desire to colonize the ocean and space.

2023 . Rat Saw God is an album about riding a bike down a suburban stretch in Greensboro while listening to My Bloody Valentine for the first time on an iPod Nano, past a creek that runs through the neighborhood riddled with broken glass bottles and condoms, a front yard filled with broken and rusted car parts, a lonely and dilapidated house reclaimed by kudzu. Four Lokos and rodeo clowns and a kid who burns down a corn field. Roadside monuments, church marquees, poppers and vodka in a plastic water bottle, the S**t you get away with at Jewish summer camp, strange sentimental family heirlooms at the thrift stores. The way the South hums alive all night in the summers and into fall, the sound of high school football games, the halo effect from the lights polluting the darkness. It's not really bright enough to see in front of you, but in that stretch of inky void - somehow - you see everything. Rat Saw God was written in the months immediately following Twin Plagues' completion, and recorded in a week at Asheville's Drop of Sun studio. While Twin Plagues was a breakthrough critically for Wednesday, it was also a creative and personal breakthrough for Hartzman. The lauded record charts feeling really fucked up, trauma, dropping acid. It had Hartzman thinking about the listener, about her mom hearing those songs, about how it feels to really spill your guts. And in the end, it felt okay. InchI really jumped that hurdle with Twin Plagues where I was not worrying at all really about being vulnerable - I was finally comfortable with it, and I really wanna stay in that zone.Inch
