Weta Workshop - Polystone - The Hobbit Trilogy - Smaug the Terrible Bust - COLLECTIBLES - Multicolor

Weta Workshop was thrilled to work on the epic trilogy that was The Hobbit™, contributing design, specialty props and specialty costumes. Each Miniature Skull, a compact yet detailed artifact, offers a profound glimpse into the anatomy of Middle-earth. Enhance your collection with this unique curation and examine these creatures like never before. It takes hundreds of hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new Middle-earth piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment, or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work. Recovered from the depths of the Long Lake™, this fossilized cranium belonged to Smaug, last and greatest of the fire-drakes of the North. The horn cores are long, tapering bones sheathed in black keratin, a material of exceptional durability even after millennia. The teeth, serrated and recurved, retain traces of gold fused into the enamel, a result of prolonged contact between the treasure-hoard on which he slept and the heat that resided within his breath. The immense jaw structure and resonating cavities of the skull once amplified a voice described as both enthralling and terrible. This specimen can be displayed with jaw open, to evoke the roar that shook the Lonely Mountain™, or closed, to capture the brooding menace of its repose. An unparalleled centrepiece, it would enhance any collector's treasure horde. Features Made primarily from polystone Small palatial bone made from polyurethane Based on the dragon Smaug, as seen in The Hobbit Obsidian-like stand makes this skull feel like an artifact straight out of the study of Saruman™ Stand adjustment allows for display with jaw open or closed Physically sculpted by Weta Workshop Senior Sculptor and Middle-earth veteran Jamie Beswarick “Our authentic prop
