White Night (MOD) (DVD Movie)

Six stories, five directors, one night! The film unfolds during Nuit Blanche, a massive annual all night, city wide, art festival. It follows six different interweaving stories -- an artist questioning her place in the world; a fired lawyer who dons a superhero mask; two high school friends reuniting in a way that might finally become more; a lost traveller constrained by a language barrier; an altered observer who lives to capture life through his lens; and a dedicated volunteer, more focused on others than the art. All are in a period of transition in their lives, and on this one night, they will all come together, connecting, and changing each others lives forever.

The Tyler family runs a small town by force. Nelse Tyler is the mayor and Tom Calvert wants to take over the job. To achieve his plan he has Nelse framed for murder. The youngest of Nelse's three sons saves the day by apprehending the real killer. The plot doesn't sound very comedic but it is an enjoyable, delightful light-hearted romp. This excellent comedy was re-made 3 years later with Harold Lloyd and many of the same actors.

A young, uptight family moves to Los Angeles and befriends a friendly liberal couple when their children start playing together at the neighborhood playground. They're invited to dinner and a family playdate becomes increasingly interesting as the night goes on.
