Whitetop Mountain Band - Bull Plus 10% - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Mountain was the legendary American rock band led by Leslie West. The band was formed by West and Felix Pappalardi in 1969 playing one of it's early dates at the equally legendary Woodstock Festival in August 1969. In September 1969 Corky Laing joined Mountain replacing original drummer Norman Smart. They became a major live draw, following hard on the heels of Cream and Jimi Hendrix and the band's improvisational approach really took off in a concert setting. The combination of Leslie West's peerless guitar pyrotechnics, the crunch and drive of the Felix Pappalardi/ Corky Laing rhythm section, and the melodic frosting of Steve Knight's keyboards made for a memorable live experience. This 2CD set is a comprehensive Mountain compilation, with all the classics and many of the underrated gems in their catalogue. These include InchBlood Of The SunInch, InchDreams Of Milk And Honey, and InchOne Last Cold KissInch. The classics are InchMississippi QueenInch, InchTheme From An Imaginary WesternInch, and InchNantucket SleighrideInch among others. If you don't own any Mountain, this would be a good place to start.

2013 debut album from the Country singer/songwriter. Nashville sounds like Nashville again on High Top Mountain. From furious Honky-Tonk and pre-outlaw Country-rocking to spellbinding Bluegrass pickin' and emotional balladry, the album serves as a one-stop guide to everything that made real country music such a force to be reckoned with. Pure and uncompromising, devoid of gloss and fakery, High Top Mountain's dozen instant classics evoke the sound of timeless Country in it's many guises and brings back the lyrical forthrightness and depth that permeated the music Simpson absorbed during his Kentucky childhood.

Deluxe two CD set containing three bonus tracks, a patch and poster. 2018 . Founded in 2001, German black metal instigators Helrunar have gone from strength to strength, establishing themselves as a band approaching Nordic themes with brains. Records such as Frostnacht and Baldr Ok Íss are regarded as seminal works for the country's scene before the group shook off genre conventions altogether in favor of a holistic approach to extreme music and it's topics. This is manifest in 2011's double album Sól. While their sixth full-length Niederkunfft (2015) marked the beginning of a new era with recourse to archaic death and doom metal pondering late medieval superstition in the face of the Enlightenment, successor Vanitas Vanitatum shows yet another tack, albeit within a similar stylistic framework. Musically, front man M.D., who forms one half of the group besides drummer S.K., places Vanitas Vanitatum between it's predecessor and the Sól era. InchThe songs are more compact and mature, also mostly faster, and again, more black metal. Apart from that, there have been influences you might call nostalgic.Inch With it's title referring to a famous ode by 17th century poet Andreas Gryphius, Helrunar's seventh puts the well-known saying (meaning Inchvanity of vanitiesInch or Inchall is vainInch) into a contemporary context, resulting in Inchour most cynical and misanthropic work to date in a consciously exaggerated way,Inch says M.D. InchWe address different forms of vanity and narcissism, which are rampant in our age, to reveal their psychological and societal origins and consequences. Both traits are contrasted by death and corruption to show their inanity.Inch
