Best Portable AC Unit I Could Get
I did about a weeks worth of researching (couple hours per day) making sure i was getting what was best suited for my conditions. The my room is the attic with no insulation and its a fairly large room. I can feel the breeze actually reach me across the room. it cools tge room on hot summer days about 6 degrees per hour and i have no door so i can only imagine alot of cool air goes down my stairs so im working on curtaing off my room, nevertheless it goes from 90 to 84 in an hour and that is possibly understated. since the unit is by the window. im not sure how accuate the thermostat is actually reading but it feels 1000× more bareable after that hour. I shut it off with tge timer set. it had the best energy rating out of my research, you want a dual hose regardless due to its efficiency compared to a single, and it has the highest cooling power rating 14000 btu available for portable ac units. what i found was most products dont label these statistics and i hat to do alot of digging but whynter products list them ALL so it seems they had the most confidence in there product over others. I'll be doing a Review Soon At ( youtube.com/superandrered.com ). Best Buy Also had it listed as the cheapest price of all retailers online (again i did my digging). thanks best buy for that. I went with the ac only unit because my logic suggested a ac/heater unit might have more flaws with the system and a higher chance of malfunction. On Top of All That.. It has in my opinion the sleekest design of them all. Easy to use & works great. i also watched alot of ac unit video reviews and top 5 lists and whynter was always a) in the list and b) near or at the top spot. thats my take on the product hope it helps. Super loud!!!
I got this one in exchange for the Honeywell - 450 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner - Blue/White which stayed above 80 degrees all throughout the 90 and above summer. The single hose I discovered created a vacuum in the room which did not allow air to circulate therefore trapping heat rather than letting it go. Its why i went back to best buy and exchanged for the only dual exhaust best buy had. So far it cools my room down to the 60s and no more stale vacuum air as i had with the single hose which by they, created such a vacuum in my room i could not open my door! I like that it solved two of my problems but gained one in the process,....loudness! The compressor and fan are so loud I've had to raise the volume of my tv from a comfortable listening volume of 10 to now 30 in order to hear it. Not good for late night tv in bed while the misses is trying to get her sleep. I had a whynter before which is why i chose this. Even that one was loud but not like this! This is like industrial loud. To loud for a home! Would like to return or exchange for a less noisy one but this is Best Buys only dual exhaust with 14,000 btu. Honeywell's 14000 was a lot quieter but didn't deliver on its promise. If they had a dual exhaust at 14000 btu I'd give it a try over this whynter. Its quite annoying! Best Buy needs to stock more dual hose 14000 btu options for the consumer to choose from. All the single hoses they carry are going to give you the same subpar results i had. I'd stay away from them for now on and stick with dual no less than 14000 btu which is as high you're ever going to get from a portable unfortunately!

Pretty good portable air.
Used this in my garage at the end of summer and it chilled down a 24x30 attached garage pretty quick. Set it at 72 and that is what it brought it down to According to the thermometer on the wall. We will see in Mid August next year when it hits 95 outside. Also the fan speed seems a bit slow even on high but other than that not bad.

Very Nice Product
I really like my portable air conditioner. Cools down the room very quickly. Easy to put together. Only negative is that it isn't very quiet. I would equate the noise it generates to a fan on "High".
