This review has to deal more with the condition of the unit received than its performance. I purchased this unit earlier this month (4/2021) and I was really hoping it would help cool down my attic, but I was shock to see the condition of the item sent to which was purchased as a “new item”. I know items can get damaged in transportation but this item was clearly used and damaged and still sent to me. There were items missing in the box as well. As an BB Elite Plus member I was very disappointed to receive this item in this condition since it was sold to me as a new item. All I received from Best Buy was an apology but I felt like more could have been done to compensate for having to return this item that is pretty heavy. They never even ask to see how the item was received. Most companies offer a discount on your next purchase. Hopefully someone at BB will receive this and do a little more.

My only complaint is that the remote & control panel are inconsistent. When I set the temp from the remote then try to change the temp on the panel, the system won't recognize it initially. I have to change it again on the panel - almost to reset the capability... and vice versa. This winter, I almost forgot about the heating feature and would have had to spend $200 or $300 for a new heater to heat the attic. I double checked the manual and it was running in no time.

Very easy to assemble, easy to use. Many people complained about the noise level, it is not extremely loud. Looking forward to testing the heat function in the winter.

This unit cooled my small bedroom very easily. It didn't need to kick on incessantly through the night. Worked perfectly for those hot summer nights!

This portable a.c. is fantastic. It's been keeping our house cool all summer. Cools about 500 square feet effectively. We haven't tried the heater part of it yet. It is a little bulky if you don't have much space, but I'll gladly trade the room to keep our house cool.

Puts off enough heat for my whole basement. Warning pulls more than 5 gallons of water a day which is a good thing but the water has to go somewhere. I have a large plastic container and I raised unit up off floor and gravity does rest. But have to empty constantly. Ordered second one for garage overkill for a 2 car but I'll be chilling and my Corvettes won't get moldy. Connecticut weather is always too hot/cold Unit was assembled plugged in and one hose to window

Very good unit works as advertised. Bough the unit to use in a shed converted to nail salon. Doesn’t work below 45 degrees to heat.

My neighbors started to adjust their lifestyles to accommodate this machine. One of them planted a small garden next to the exhaust port. It's loud and the vibrations shake the apartment complex. It also squirts water on your carpet no way of getting around that. I wouldnt recommend it except maybe for a large garage or basement but it draws enough current to through a normal house breaker. Whynter customer support actually told me not to use the exhaust hose when using the dehumidifier because it doesnt need to intake and exhaust. That made so much sense to me that I returned the item. For most people there are better options on the market for 1/3rd the price. You've been warned.

I first put this in a small workroom that was about 20x11. No problems there. I then tried it out in my larger bedroom which was about 28x16. Also did a nice job cooling the room down to about 73F in less than hour. I reckon external temperature was closer to 88-92 degrees. It passed my first test and after about 2 weeks of use, I still have not had to drain it. I run it close to 5 hours daily. Seems like a legit cooling machine.

We jam in the garage twice a week and it definitely gets warm in the summer. this has been awesome in keeping us cool. way better than the honeywell air conditioner that my neighbor loaned us. its quiet enough that it doesn't interfere with our acoustics. also have not had the need to drain the unit so far. very efficient in my view.
