About this product
Will Sumner, originally from Minneapolis, is probably best known for his 1980 classic surf jazz album Tropic Zone. It was a natural fit for him to relocate to Southern California a few decades back, where he has continued to a string of Smooth Jazz albums that always include his tropical and surf nuances. A virtuoso on guitar, piano, and violin, he lays down dense, complex jazz tracks with such ease and finesse without ever sounding like he's showing off or over-flexing his music chops. Will Sumner is a musician's musician. Ride The Wave is his latest.

Acclaimed Southern California guitarist, Will Sumner's returns with his ninth Smooth Jazz album, Ocean Street. This one is heavy on latin rhythms with beautiful themes and Sumner's trademark killer solos.

David Lowery (Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven) to his new 28-track solo album InchFathers, Sons and BrothersInch, a musical autobiography, celebrating his youth, family, friends and the highs and lows of his lengthy 40-year career in the music business. The album combines three of David's previously online-only released autobiographical solo albums In The Shadow of the Bull, Leaving Key Member Clause, and Vending Machine, and also includes four new previously unreleased songs, as well as four newly re-recorded tracks.Lowery let's his memory, and pen, traverse back to some of his earliest memories as a child in an English seaside town (InchFrozen SeaInch). He chronologically takes us through his youth (InchPapa, do they really kill the bull?Inch) and carries on through his coming-of-age period. He recalls moving away from his loving parents' home (InchMom, I'm Living the LifeInch), starting a band (InchI Wrote A Song Called Take The Skinheads BowlingInch) and then goes onto detail an early love that sadly disintegrated due to his own self-described anger and selfishness (InchMexican ChickensInch). The album further delves into the ups and downs of his music careers with both groups (tapping into CVB band tensions on InchWe Hate YouInch and Cracker's quick rise to fame on InchIt Don't Last LongInch). He recalls hooking up with his future ex-wife in Richmond, VA (InchPretty Girl from Oregon HillInch), and details friends, family, children, divorce and more.By the end of this lengthy, insightful album, you get the feeling that you really know this artist, just as every good autobiography worth it's salt does. Thankfully this one just happens to be bound with some truly gorgeous melodies and songs.
