A: When my father-in-law was in the hospital they provided him with this device using headphones. So I am assuming that they cleaned it between patients and that the foam over the speaker is washable? We quick bought one for him to use when he came home. He likes the earbud better than the headphones.

A: I have hearing aids but dont wear them while using this. Simply plug in headphone on the unit i put it on my lap and turn on to watch tv I'm sitting about 12 ft from tv and comes in loud and clear Hope this helps
