Founded in 1977 by Lionel Hampton, the Who's Who in Jazz tag existed as a means to present to the world the best musicians that the jazz world had to offer. Lionel Hampton Presents Woody Herman is a studio album recorded in 1977 at Soundmixers Studios, New York and sees Woody invite George Mraz (bass), Richie Pratt (drums), Candido (congas), Al Caiola (guitar), Roland Hanna (piano) and Lionel Hampton (vibraphone) to showcase an array of classic compositions including 'Body and Soul' and 'Mood Indigo'.
