World of Horror successfully achieves all its goals. While its approach to horror is quite derivative of Junji Ito, it is applied creatively and with its own vision. I can't say it left me in awe because it truly is precisely the game it claims to be. Nevertheless, I was immensely satisfied. It provides a wonderfully modular experience, but if you have a mortal fear of numbers, that's where you'll encounter the true horror.

10/10 would definitely recommend. The game is a love letter to Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft in a rogue-like, RPG. Battle eldritch horrors, hideous monsters, and your own dwindling sanity set against the backdrop of an 80's Japan. I've only won once, I've died, lost my mind, or had the world devoured more times than I can remember and it's totally worth it. It's like the Unfair Platformer but as a cosmic horror game, more like an unfair RPG.

A phenomenal game that I am so happy received a physical release. Unique, creepy, horror vibes that I highly recommend for fans of Junji Ito

I adore this game. Take the creepy aesthetic of Junji Ito, the cosmic horror of Lovecraft, the graphics of classic 2-bit adventure games, the gameplay mechanics of a survival-horror JRPG, and the challenge and replayability of a rouge-lite game. This game is a rather unique blend of various game genres unlike anything I've played before. This is a fantastic game to pick up for quick sessions. Each run can last anywhere from about 20 minutes to maybe a little over an hour. What's neat is that the more you play, the more the game opens up to you. New characters, weapons, areas, and even investigation cases unlock as you complete runs and beat challenges. Because of the rogue-lite elements, there's a fair bit of RNG that randomizes each run and keeps the game feeling fresh after hours of playtime and scores of playthroughs finished.

If you’re a fan of Junji Ito and Lovecraft, then buying this is a no-brainer, though be prepared for a difficult ride. This copy comes with all the goodies from Fangamer too, and the art cards are a treat to look at. If you’re on the fence about this, I’d recommend grabbing it before you can’t.
