Worm - Gloomlord - Splatter - VINYL LP

Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. Burrowing through the mire of the endless Floridian swamps like an arcane travesty of nature, the shadow-bound entity more commonly known only as WORM present 'Foreverglade', a strange amalgam of things that ooze, things that crawl and some things that remain still for centuries before crumbling back into the dust and dirt unobserved by mortal eyes. Utterly ambitious while being steeped in the ancient practices of tradition and ritual observance, on 'Foreverglade' Worm finds it's truest incarnation, where the catacombs of funereal and oppressively heavy Death Doom are further thrown open, letting drift out the lurking obscurity of Black Metal's cemetery stench. And yet an adept virtuosity and ghostly ethereality invokes the grim dark beauty of the swamps as much as the veiled creeping horrors. What's certain is 'Foreverglade' is suffocatingly heavy, filled with shimmering gloomy atmosphere and a reeking foul humidity that superbly embodies the mysteries and monstrosities of the murk. To that end Worm reach a new apex of creative sorcery while signaling it has only begun to unleash what lies beneath the mists.

Ever since their emergence in early 2016 Hmltd, avid advocates of the Gesamtkunstwerk, have always striven to give audiences more. On their wildly ambitious second album, they are realising these aims on a truly epic scale.Created over the course of two years with a cast of 47 musicians - including a gospel choir and a 16-piece string orchestra - The Worm is less a concept album than a fully-fledged musical universe, transcending genre and medium. Set in a disorienting anachronistic version of Medieval England - as steeped in dystopian sci-fi fantasy as it is folklore and Old English mythology - it's part political polemic, part deeply moving psychological journey.Though always admired for their defiantly genre-agnostic approach, The Worm sees Hmltd pushing sonic experimentation to a whole new level, from dissonant free jazz riffing to vintage soul and English folk fusions to rock opera. Major musical touchpoints included Stravinsky's 'Rite Of Spring', Pink Floyd and Nina Simone's rendition of 'Sinnerman' and references for the world of The Worm included 14th century texts The Canterbury Tales and The Decameron, Aleksey German's 2013 sci-fi film Hard To Be A God, Bergman's The Seventh Seal, Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev and the hopeful narrative arc of 90s mecha anime series 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'.1. Indian Summer of Love finds The Bongolian immersed in a new set of sounds and influences for a new Belle Epoch. It's a musical landscape informed by the Sixties psychedelia of India via a Haight Ashbury happening. It's a kaleidoscopic vision that takes us from a 20th century Fin de Siècle and lands us in the here and now of the 21st Century. It's for dancers, for seekers and is all underscored by The Bongolian's trademark heavy rhythms and breaks. It's another fine instalment of essential cuts for the dancefloor and for high fidelity listening, quality is guaranteed. From the East to the West, welcome to the Indian Summer of Love. Nasser Bouzida performs drums, percussion, guitars and keys whilst the album features several new flavours to the Bongolian sound with the prominent instrumentation of sitars and bansuri, along with flute, trumpet, saxophone and trombone performances from several stellular international guest musicians.
