Yizhar Karshon - Una Folia Antiqua Nuova - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The InchFoliaInch was a popular dance born in the Iberian Peninsula in the 15th century. The meaning of InchfoliaInch being InchmadnessInch, it is documented that in it's early days it was a fast, ecstatic dance. Both a harmonic structure and a melody (developed a bit later), the InchFoliaInch evolved until in the Baroque it was formalized into a standard chord progression and melodic line, often developed in the form of variations. In this 2-album set, we present many versions of the InchFoliaInch recorded over the years by artists belonging to the Note 1 group of labels Paolo Pandolfo, Jose Miguel Moreno, Lina Tur Bonet, Enrico Gatti, Leila Schayegh or Sigiswald Kuijken all make their appearance in music from the Renaissance and Baroque. Among the represented composers we can find Marin Marais, Arcangelo Corelli, Gaspar Sanz or Antonio Vivaldi. Have a lot of fun with these 140 minutes of madness!

Isn't always love the same and yet constantly new? This could be the motto of the new GENUIN album by soprano Heidi Maria Taubert. Here she mixes passacaglias and chaconnes from the Baroque era with her own arrangements and compositions by Ercole Nisini, which take up the examples. The infinite variety of the variations on an ostinato bass fits in with the multifaceted poetical play about the joys and sorrows of love. The is a delightful journey of discovery featuring works by Monteverdi and Frescobaldi, by Purcell and Krieger highly valuable in terms of repertoire and exquisitely executed by Heidi Maria Taubert and the ensemble Instrumenta musica!
