I love this white noise machine so much I have two of them. I purchased the pink one two years ago and I purchased the white version a couple of weeks ago. Regularly sleeping with a small fan all my life, I grew accustomed to falling asleep with a fan noise. However, I got some new neighbors who can be quite loud and the small fan I've used forever, while comforting, wasn't helping me drown out the distracting sounds of their regular loud music, car sounds and slamming car doors, loud conversations on their back porch, etc. I did research on different white noise machines and ultimately decided on the Yogaslsep Dohm Classic. I wanted something that would sound as close to a fan sound as possible and a bonus would be if it came in pink… I was happy when the Dohm Classic checked both these boxes!
The noise machine is very simple and low tech, which I appreciate as someone who tries to keep fancy electronics out of the bedroom. It's sleek and smooth and has a classic design. It has a low and a high volume that you flip between with a switch (off is the middle option). To adjust the tone, you twist the top and / or the side, which opens and closes the different cutouts on the machine, altering the sound slightly. As it uses an actual fan inside, the sound it makes is a perfect match for the small fan I used to use and it's exactly what I was looking for. While it doesn't completely mask some loud noises, it does well enough and is steady and comforting. I liked it so much that I bought a second one, the white version, for my home office to help me focus and mask the sounds of my neighbor's barking dogs.
If I had one complaint, it's that the cord is off to the side of the machine and not the back. Depending upon how you situate this machine in relation to the electrical outlet, this might not bother you… but for me, it has caused some curving with the cord due to how I have to pull it over to the left to plug it in. It seems like it would make more sense for the cord to come out of the back of the machine instead of back-right from the switch, making it more natural to plug it in a variety of different places. I'm still able to plug the machine in just fine and it works, this is just a very minor nitpick.
I haven't had any issues with this sound machine in the two years I've had it and the white version I recently purchased seems just as good. It's easy to use and requires basically no setup aside from opening the box, plugging it in, turning it on with the flip of a switch and twisting the housing to find your perfect sound and tone. From there, it's quick to turn on and off as needed. I'm happy with this noise machine and I'd recommend it to friends and family. If I ever need a third one, I'll happily purchase the Yogasleep Dohm Classic again.
