About this product
After the highly acclaimed recording of the complete Mozart piano sonatas, pianist William Youn, who was born in South Korea and has been living in Munich for many years, started the cycle of piano sonatas by Franz Schubert. The first volume received fantastic reviews InchThe very first album of the Schubert complete recording deserves full recognition. For the program alone, Youn's selections each offer a characteristic example of Schubert's various stages of compositional development. The playing is of exquisite beauty and simplicity. And in doing so, Youn expands the interpretive spectrum of Schubert's sonatas to include an intimate tone all his own. He leaves room for the music to unfold in a completely unpathetic and unforced manner, while maintaining a constant flow and soft but clear outlines. Youn's playing convinces [...] through flawless, perfectly realized naturalness.Inch (Fono Forum, Album of the Month, 5 Stars) The second album features the Sonatas No. 4 (D. 537), No. 18 (D. 894), No. 19 (D. 958) and No. 20 (D. 959). The sonatas Nos. 18, 19 and 20 belong to the last piano sonatas (No. 21 is the last one) by Schubert and are his last major compositions for solo piano. No. 18 was the last of Schubert's sonatas published during his lifetime and was later described by R. Schumann as the Inchmost perfect in form and conceptionInch of any of Schubert's sonatas. Schubert composed the Sonatas Nos. 19 and 20 during the last months of life, between the spring and autumn of 1828; they were published ten years after his death and are now considered among the most important of the composer's mature masterpieces. The album also includes the Adagio in E major, D. 612. InchI chose this movement as a link between the two sonatas D 537 and 959 because the music sounds like an improvisation to meInch, William explains.

After the highly acclaimed recording of the complete Mozart piano sonatas, pianist William Youn, who was born in South Korea and has been living in Munich for many years, is now devoting himself to a new major project - the complete recording of all piano sonatas by Franz Schubert. On the first album, the pianist spans a wide arc from the first to the last sonata On the first CD of this album, he starts with the last, the great B-flat Major Sonata D. 960 from Schubert's year of death in 1828 - and contrasts it's sometimes dreamy sounds with the fresh, self-confident first Sonata in E Major D. 157, which was written within a few weeks in 1815. The second CD follows with the light Sonata No. 13 in A Major D. 664, the mysterious conglomerate of Sonata No. 9 in F-sharp Minor D 571 / 604 / 570, without the unfinished fourth movement, and finally the momentous Sonata No. 14 in A minor D. 784 - a work of astringency and severity rather unusual for Schubert.

In his latest album Intermissions, pianist Svetozar Ivanov continues his tradition of creating compact discs with thematic unity and artistic cohesiveness. In the year of Beethoven's 250th anniversary, Svetozar Ivanov juxtaposes the composer's last Piano Sonata in C Minor op. 111 with Contrapunctus I from J. S. Bach's last work The Art of Fugue, and Mozart's Sonata K. 330 in C Major. Four Intermissions, by the American avant-garde composer Morton Feldman, who describes the peace and timelessness of these works as Inchvibrating stasisInch, serve as an audio palate cleanser between each work. The album cover displays one of Edward Hopper's last paintings Intermission, a powerful representation of a solitary figure in a public space. Intermissions is Svetozar Ivanov's fifth solo album with Gega New. In a fast-paced world where one rarely listens to an entire album, he keeps producing albums with unifying feel and pace, ones that ideally should be experienced as a complete concert.

Orange Vinyl. Boldy James & Nicholas Craven's 4th album and 2nd of the 2025 calendar year. This time around their artistic chemistry is sharper than ever, continuing to pave their lane as one of the most innovative rapper & producer combos this decade.
