Lucille Ball (TV's I Love Lucy, The Long, Long Trailer, Mame) stars as Helen North, a widowed nurse with eight children who unexpectedly falls for Navy officer Frank Beardsley-played by Henry Fonda (12 Angry Men, On Golden Pond, Mister Roberts)-a disciplined widower with ten kids of his own. When they marry, it's instant pandemonium as two enormous households collide under one roof, testing patience, parenting skills, and plumbing alike. Directed by Melville Shavelson (Houseboat, It Started in Naples, The Five Pennies), this warm and witty family comedy balances heart and hilarity with timeless charm.
