About this product
Philosopher and anthropologist Youssef Seddik, a translator and Islamologist specializing in ancient Greece and the anthropology of the Koran, invites listeners to discover Sufism through an erudite presentation that explores preconceived ideas on the subject. Sufism is more than just mysticism; it's a reflection on the relationship between man and God, between the individual and the collective. The author presents the great figures of Sufism who contributed to a reflection on the sacred texts and elaborated this original thought. By tracing the history of Sufi thought, the author uncovers an unsuspected link between East and West the influence of Sufism on European philosophies and religions. This new approach shifts the focus from a history of thought in the West to consider it as a melting pot of multiple influences. Audiobook, in French.

Vinyl LP pressing. 1982 album by German countertenor Klaus Nomi. • Mind bending mix of art rock, new wave, and disco. Contains the singles InchSimple Man,Inch InchDing Dong,Inch InchJust One Look,Inch and InchIcurok.Inch Long out-of-print in the U.S. Bavarian born Klaus Sperber emigrated to New York City in 1972, and soon became a staple in the East Village art scene, adopting the new last name of Nomi (fashioned after the popular science magazine Omni). After working on a production with Kristian Hoffman, whose band Mumps were playing Max's Kansas City and CBGB, the two began working together-with Hoffman writing originals and picking cover versions of popular songs that would showcase Nomi's multi-octave vocal range. Nomi's second album, Simple Man, appeared in 1982 featuring Hoffman's title track and covers of Doris Troy's InchJust One LookInch and InchDing Dong The Witch Is DeadInch from The Wizard Of Oz-plus songs from renaissance composers John Dowland and Henry Purcell. It would sadly be Nomi's last album of original material before his AIDS-related death in 1983.
