Easy setup but iPad mini 4 is a very tight fit into the portion that covers the back of the iPad. The plastic portion of the cover that goes around the speakers on the iPad cracked on the first one I had and Best Buy replaced it. I've had the second one for about two weeks now and so far it hasn't cracked. The keyboard works very well but the tight fit on the portion that covers the back of the iPad concerns me because the iPad does not appear to fit all the way into the case. I think the part that covers the back of the iPad needs to be made out of something more flexible so the iPad would fit into it better. If that part were redesigned I would recommend this product. As it is I would not recommend someone spend roughly $120.00 for this keyboard.

Purchased this case because I wanted the best of both worlds, a portable keyboard and the option to remove the iPad in the case and use it independently. This is the only option on the market that offers all of that, to my knowledge. After removing the iPad from the case and attempting to put it back in, the corner of the case cracked. The fit is VERY tight in the case so I was not surprised by the cracking. I returned it and gave it another shot. Had the 2nd case for less than a day and pressed on the corner of the case since it looked like the iPad was not fully in and boom, cracked again. I will be returning this one as well and probably going with the Apple case/cover. Too bad because the keyboard was really nice with the different color backlight.

The plastic backing for the ipad4 cracked in the corners and at the access area for power cord. Keyboard worked fine without any problem. Contacted company on line and within 2 days a new product arrived which has had no similar problem. Customer service was excellent.

I got this for Christmas. I love the keyboard and i also love that you can detach the screen from it but the plastic case cracks very easy. I went to Bestbuy to get a new one but it cracked as well and now i'm over in Europe and can't return it :(.

When I opened the box it was cool and everything , but the case isn't very protective . That is my only concern about the product everything else is great .

I love the concept of this case. It is lovely to be able to have the keyboard with such a range of motion as well as having the ability to flip it around and have the keyboard behind it. I am disappointed as the case that goes around the iPad has not held up like I would have thought. There are spots on the sides that have cracked or broken off. I haven't done anything for them to have broken off. It is works. It just isn't smooth to the touch anymore.

The unit is of very nice design however the top side but the iPad back side is made of wrong material-too stiff and it cracks easily in narrow elements and close to corners. If the material is changed I would rate is as perfect. The keyboard material behaves nice. The mentioned cracks appear regardless of the unit treatment, just due to natural loads like gentle pressure or movement of iPad inside. Happily Zagg replaces it, but they mentioned it is of the same material. So until 12 months they would send you new unit. So I may recommend it.

I like the product but feel the one purchased was defective; owned a month. Corners have cracked off. Definitely going to exchange.

Excellent device, the lit keyboard is nice. Make sure you get the right one though, some of the one on BB shelves were the first generation and the edges around the Mini stress fracture. We had this happen twice before we contacted the Manufacturer directly. They replaced it with a newer one and we have been satisfied ever since.

Had some issues with two different cases that I picked up from the local Best Buy store. I contacted Zagg directly. And they sent me a new one that didn't have the problems with case cracking in the corners. THANK YOU ZAGG!! Apparently there was an issue with the inital lot(s). The case was just too tight. Love my new case. Glad I didn't give up on it!!

The keyboard is awesome, but the plastic shell breaks and cracks easily. No replacement is available to purchase without buying another keyboard.

The shell that snaps on the iPad is a tight fit. Mine cracked while applying. She'll is also slick when holding the iPad. The keyboard is excellent, I will say that. Great idea with adjustable hinge where the iPad connects, but the shell is cheaply made. Would recommend if iPad is used for work

Not sure i would recommend. I love the concept but the case has cracked already - only 6 weeks after purchse. Going back this week to see if I can get Best Buy to replace it.

While having the keyboard easily accessible, the casing around the iPad cracked around the corners and is slowly chipping away. This is only after about a month of use without any drops or rough use.

Love the overall design of this product. It did everything I had hoped for. The problem is in the material they made the case out of. Within days of installing this case it started showing cracks. More would appear each day and it slowly deteriorated. I returned the first one because I thought I had a lemon but the second case has had the same problem. It just keeps falling apart even with very light usage. If they can change the plastic material used for the iPad cover this would be a 5 star product.

The product does what it was designed to do. I have had it now for about three months and there have been no problems. I love having the keyboard right there rather than trying to type from the screen. Great product. A little heavier than I expected.

When I got the product I thought it would be what I was looking for. I had a mini iPad case made by another company which didn't separate like this one so I thought this would be a step up. However, within a week or so the part of the case that the iPad mini actually fits in began to crack on the corners and in other places that were thin. It has now broken off pieces in three or four places. Not durable enough for normal daily use at all.

I attempted to put my iPad in it and after much struggle I finally succeeded. It worked good, but just don't type enough at the moment to really use it for long. Once I start writing again it'll get put to better use

Thus far, I have had to opportunity to use this product for approximately 1 month. I had to say that I couldn't be more happy with it. Prior to buying it, I read numerous reviews, and they were mostly negative. I have not had any of the problems that has been mentioned in other reviews. In fact, I have even dropped the my iPad a couple of times and the case not only protected the device, but it is still fully functional. If you are on the edge of buying it, I would definitely recommend it. Just to be on the safe side, I would buy the replacement plan from Best Buy for $10. It will put your mind at ease.

product works wonderfully...after swapping it out twice at best buy and once with the manufacturer. Found out best buy had a shipping issue with the entire lot sent to my local store and had to contact the manufacturer for final replacement in intended condition.
