About this product
As Janacek can be considered the most important Czech operatic composers of his time, Febel represents without doubt one of the most influential contemporary opera composers in the German-speaking countries. The fil rouge of this CD reveals itself in the mere choice of the pieces all of them are compositions for piano and ensemble which try to construct the literal Hyperklavier Febel mentions in his title, a sound conglomerate that extends the semantic possibilities of a solo piano through the employment of different instruments. Many more, however, are the common points that bind the contemporary Febel to the historic Janacek.A further, more interesting parallelism, however, has to do with stylistic coordinates as Janacek can be considered the most important Czech operatic composers of his time (we will just remember the titles Jenufa, Kata Kabanova and Vec Makropulos), Febel represents without doubt one of the most influential contemporary opera composers in the German-speaking countries. With performances at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Oper Bonn, Landestheater Linz (among others), he has confronted himself with the most various themes and figures, so for example Euridice, Frida (Kahlo) and Benjamin Button. This interest in opera could be a subterrain reason for their similar rethinking of piano solo with instrumental ensemble by avoiding the classical, dualistic Inchquestion-answerInch rhetoric, they are able to carve an all-round figure - in other words a character - out of the piano. Through a particular employment of the ensemble, the keyboard gathers a new three-dimensional plasticity, like a singer immersed in a scenography and illuminated by multicoloured reflectors.

Estonia provides the starting point and goal for this disc of sacred music for male choir, with a traditional hymn followed by works by composers such as Kreek, Eespere and Lemba, and the closing de prefunds by Arvo Part. In between Orphei Drangar take in music by composers from the Nordic countries, France, Italy, Central Europe and the UK. Throughout a program ranging from Rossini's Preghiera from c. 1860 to Sven-David Sandstorm's Sanctus, composed for the choir in 2010, Orphei Drangar and Rydinger Alin once again demonstrate the versatility and exalted standards that habitually causes the choir to be described as the finest male-voice choir in the world.

AMETSAK places the listener at the heart of an intense and highly evocative listening experience. Devoted to the music of Gabriel Erkoreka, one of the most respected voices in contemporary Spanish composition, the album offers a journey through the realms of the mind, memory, and the perception of time, articulated through a musical language that is both sophisticated and immediately engaging. Performed by Zahir Ensemble under the direction of Juan García Rodríguez, AMETSAK brings together seven works composed between 2001 and 2023. At it's core lies the Ametsak cycle, inspired by the dream state, in which sound becomes a flexible substance and time is experienced as a subjective dimension. This approach results in an immersive and emotionally resonant listening experience that appeals not only to contemporary-music specialists but also to curious listeners seeking new sonic perspectives. The programme combines landmark works such as Trance with pieces of strong symbolic and narrative character (Izaro, Orreaga, Tomba del tuffatore), creating a coherent and varied album with clear artistic identity. Recorded in Seville in 2024, AMETSAK stands out for it's artistic depth, sonic clarity, and communicative power, making it a strong and attractive for audiences interested in meaningful, exploratory contemporary music.

Somewhere I read that Luis Buñuel, at the premiere of his film L'ÂGE D'OR went up to the stage and said this is my film L'ÂGE D'OR, if you think it's strange, life is much more strangeInch. InchMusic for a Liquid TheaterInch (2018) As in many other works of mine, musical space is developed as an important aspect of composition; when performed in a concert hall, some instruments have a special disposition, violin is in the left corner and violoncello in the right corner of the stage, while flute and clarinet play from the other corners behind the audience. Abreviaturas (1999), is a very special work for me, with no dynamics -the whole work in pianissimo-, no effects, almost no timbre, only duration and pitch (rhythms and notes). InchMúsica para contemplar la evolución de una ola a cámara lentaInch (2012), as strange as it may seem, the title -Music for contemplating the evolution of a wave in slow motion- came to me as I was watching a documentary on tv; there was a fantastic image of a wave from the inside moving in slow motion, like a living sculpture made of soft glass. InchLa Memoria del AguaInch (1995), On the days I was working on both pieces, I remember the deep impression that I received from the Ives Klein retrospective at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid.Inch (César Camarero)
