Zahna - Break or Breakthrough - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

CD reissue. XYZ is the eponymous debut of the Hollywood-based metal band. Don Dokken produced this album and, like the band Dokken, XYZ plays straight forward, radio friendly 1980s metal, although their music is heavier than Dokken's. Originally released in 1989 this is a fine example of the kind of rock which was coming out of Los Angeles at that time. XYZ's self-titled debut album, is almost perfect in every facet. These guys were the real deal. They had the look, they wrote and played killer songs, and they were an incredible live band. None of the songs are weak and they're all performed with incredible energy, even the ballads. It´s a shame that XYZ came at the tail end of the hair-metal movement, cause they could be have been at least as famous as Dokken.

Rarely does a band come along that seems to have it all-the look, the music, the chops, fan support, and the production. This band has the InchitInch factor. Introducing Human Code.  Produced by Dino Elefante, whose illustrious career spans over 300 records with rock icons like Kansas, Petra, Mastedon, John Elefante, and Guardian, as well as George Ochoa (Recon, Woldview, Deliverance).  Human Code's debut album Break The Silence is a hard hitting rock album with Melodic metal influences and a supergroup of  seasoned veterans. Michael (Lee) Drive, former lead vocalist of Barren Cross, lends his powerful voice to the band, while George Ochoa, a virtuoso guitarist and keyboardist known for his work with Deliverance, Recon, Worldview, and Vengeance, brings his rich musical experience to the table. Drummer Terry Russell, previously of Word recording artist Holy Soldier, adds his dynamic rhythms, and Todd Libby, a skilled bassist and keyboardist who has graced stages with Recon and Worldview, completes the lineup. This 10-track powerhouse of an album delivers hard-hitting, face-melting rock that transcends the typical 80s metal revival. It's heavy both musically and lyrically. When the storm shatters the silenceThree years have passed since the double of Chapter 10 Wild Eyes and Chapter 11 Barricades. Three years in which the world did not stand still, and the band used the time to brew a whirlwind that is now breaking loose with full force 'Sturm zieh auf.'An atmospheric exchange of energyA storm is more than just wind. It is a raw, uncontrollable force. It brings destruction, yes-but it creates the space that is so desperately needed for something new. It is the atmospheric exchange of energy that sweeps away the old to make room for change. On their new album, Karbholz sets this very moment of transformation to music. With 13 tracks brimming with passion and emotion, the band captures the full spectrum of a storm from the oppressive 'calm before the storm' through fear and unease to the boundless freedom that emerges when the pressure subsides.Authentic, edgy, uncompromising'Sturm zieh auf' doesn't care about conventions or compatibility. The album draws on the harder facets of the band's history and creates a self-contained universe that doesn't seek to please at any cost-and perhaps that is precisely why it touches us so deeply. It is a work for those who are ready to question their listening habits.-No whining, no finger-pointing Karbholz do not denounce external circumstances.-Focus on the self It's about the power of the individual to rise above the status quo.-Unbridled positivity Amid the chaos, the band finds happiness in the small, essential things in life. The 'why' determines the 'how'In the spirit of Nietzsche, the album conveys a clear message 'If I know a why, I can endure almost any how. Sturm zieh auf' is the soundtrack for this journey. It is the musical manifestation of resilience-an invitation to face the storm, enjoy it, and emerge from it stronger.Karbholz are back.
