This Zephyr vent hood was a direct replacement for the 50 years old one, part of redoing my kitchen. The Zephyr is a nice, well-made hood. The lowest setting of the fan is pretty quiet. The others are progressively noisier and I don’t expect to be ever going up to 4 or 5. The lights are fine, with the lowest one about right if you wanted a night light in the kitchen. My one critique—and it is a minor one—is that you can’t shut off the fan without also shutting off the light. But you can turn off the light without also turning off the fan.
