The ideal CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating depends primarily on your cooking style rather than the range itself. As a general guideline, we suggest selecting a range hood that is either the same width or one size larger than your range or cooktop. If you frequently use multiple burners at once, cook foods with strong odors, or sear meats, a higher CFM—typically 700 or above—is recommended. Please keep in mind that higher CFM models generally produce more noise. For lighter cooking, such as using one burner at a time or infrequent use, a 400 CFM range hood should be sufficient.
