Great movie ! Never gets old! Only drawback was that the package claimed it came with a digital copy , but it did not.

Hilarious movie and sendup of modeling & the fashion world. Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell all play great off of each other and their characters made me laugh harder than I had in a long time!

Derek Zoolander is stupid. So is his movie. But by no means, is Zoolander humorless. Directed by and starring Ben Stiller, Zoolander is a very funny movie, if you know what to expect. Based on a character that Stiller created for the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards, Derek Zoolander was originally intended to satirize the fashion industry. The movie does no less and as a result, has received some very negative patron reviews. Audiences went into Zoolander expecting another Ben Stiller, Meet the Parents-type comedy, and when they got an offbeat movie about the fashion industry's plot to assassinate the prime minister of Malaysia, they didn't know how to react. To enjoy Zoolander, one has to forget all expectations and see the movie for what it is supposed to be: ridiculous. Derek Zoolander (Stiller) is the fashion industry's number one male model, but his career is slouching and boy beauty Hansel (Owen Wilson) provides tough competition. Fashion designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell) takes advantage of this and Zoolander's stupidity, and brainwashes him to kill the Malaysian prime minister, after he put an end to vital fashion industry sweatshops. The talented cast and an excellent soundtrack add absurdity to the already farcical plot. Zoolander gives both Ferrell and Wilson the opportunity to do what they do best. For Saturday Night Live's Ferrell that is embracing and developing the demented, while for Meet the Parents' Wilson, it is the chance to play a comedic, confident, character role. Stiller's father and wife also appear in supporting roles, with Jerry Stiller as Maury Ballstein, Derek's agent, and Christine Taylor as Matilda Jeffries, a TIME magazine reporter. Jerry Stiller, like Wilson, always manages to find humor in every role he plays, and in Zoolander this remains especially true. Taylor, being a veteran of the Brady Bunch movies, is not stranger to satire either. Well-chosen and placed music adds laughs and heightens the tone and feel of the movie. With songs ranging from Wham!'s `Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' playing as cruising music for Derek and his male model friends, and Michael Jackson's `Beat It' as the background music for a face-off between Derek and Hansel, any remaining seriousness is diminished. And yet even more surprise and absurdity is added by the many unexpected cast members and cameo appearances. Others appearing in Zoolander include David Duchovny, Jon Voight, Vince Vaughn, Andy Dick, David Bowie, Cuba Gooding Jr., Winona Ryder, and even Ralph Lauren's own male model, Tyson Beckford. I can understand people disliking this movie; it is temperamental. This is the kind of movie that varies depending on the audience and a person's expectation. Generally though, if you keep an open mind and realize that it is not meant to be serious in any way, your view of the movie shouldn't go anywhere but up. Zoolander is absurd, ridiculous, and overall, an incredibly stupid movie. I suggest you revisit this one.

What is this?!? A center for ants?!?" "What?" How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if they can't even fit inside the building?"

Two weeks after the World Trade Centers were destroyed Paramount dumped Ben Stiller's third feature directorial effort into theaters and not much was thought of it. At the time, I was fourteen years old and didn't see the movie until early December while attending a friends birthday party where we all decided to see a movie at the local dollar theater. Long story short, I loved it and only came to love it more over the fifteen years since it's release. Happy to finally be able to own it on Blu-Ray.

I finally picked up a copy of Zoolander when the squeal movie was released to theaters. Prior to the second movie, I did not have a desire to add this movie to my library, but as my older daughter wanted to see it again before going I went ahead and bought it on sale. The blu-ray edition has excellent video and sound, as expected. The movie itself has funny parts, but I wasn't blow over with it. It is also edgy and may not be appropriate for a younger teenage crowd.

I love this movie. In my mind, it's a modern classic. Will Ferrel and Ben Stiller at their best. So many classic quotes that my friends and I still use in real life - "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills," "I created the piano key neck tie - I created it," "What is this? A center for ants," etc. etc. If you want to laugh and have a good time without too much concern for realistic plot, etc. than give it a watch!

I had not seen Zoolander for years, but saw the preview for the second "2oolander", and the clip made my family laugh out loud. So since it was on sale, what the heck, get us ready for the second by reliving the first one, in all the male model hilarity. Enjoy the classic, and get ready for the next one!!!

This movie is not what I expected it to be. I thought it would be funnier than it was. The plot was just okay. I like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson but I thought it would be so funny I would bust my guts laughing constantly but it was just okay funny. Would reccommed it to rent or buy really cheap.

This is one of my family's all time funniest comedies. There are so many classic scenes that are so iconic of this movie - you repeat them and everyone will know what you're talking about. Some scenes are soooo stupid that they're funny. No one could do those but Ben.

This was a funny movie but very dumb. That's how it's supposed to be though. It also isn't really as relevant as it was when it was released but just watch it before you decide to buy it unless you're a diehard fan of stiller, Ferrell, or Wilson.

The movie is funny and show faces of quite a few celebrities. The characters are stupid and odd, which makes many funny schemes. I can understand what the director tries to convey to the audience. I probably will watch it again sometimes.

This is a comedy that grew on me after multiple viewings. Glad to see it finally get a blu Ray release that doesn't cost a fortune after its small initial release. Audio/video quality are a definite upgrade over the previous DVD release.

Ben stiller is hilarious and this movie is full of tons of great cameos as well. A funny light-hearted jab at the all too serious fashion industry. Owen Wilson was great in this too. Best cameo goes to David Duchovny, too funny.

I'm into cult films, and this one qualifies in spades. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you're willing to open your head a bit you'll enjoy this comic romp. Recommend it to your friends, yet be selective as to which friends you elect.

This movie came out of nowhere when it was initially released in the early 2000's and delivers on a lot of stupid fun. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are a dream comedy team not to be missed in this Blue Steel Classic flick!
