Q: Can you turn off the steam and still use the rotors?

A: In my experience, it depends on how “hard” your water is. If you are in a country with water hardness that’s not too bad (like Japan) it would not be too bad. If you have a water softener, then yes- your tap is perfect. But, if your tap water is as hard as any other location within the United States, I would look into either buying distilled water for use or contacting the manufacturers of this product to see what they would recommend.
