A: I've only used the mop once since I purchased it, but I definitely had to use hot water to wash the pad since it was pretty grimy upon removal. I was almost tempted to run it through the wash cycle once more to thoroughly clean it. I wonder why they advise using cold water when it uses the hot steam to clean.
Q: How can the remaining water be emptied after cleaning?
A: I actually don’t fill it up because I know it’s not going to use that much water. And since I use distilled I don’t want to waste it. Anyway I just turn mine upside down in the sink (after I have taken the dirty cloth off first). It’s very light weight. Then I leave the top open so it can dry out. That part may not be necessary but I’m ocd so I do things like that
