2K battery cam with 10 second pre-record!
I recently installed the Reolink Altas B630 in my backyard to catch animals roaming near our garden beds. I chose this model, as it one of the very few battery-powered cameras to offer a 10-second pre-roll before the PIR triggers, a feature usually reserved for CCTV camera systems. This works by the camera recording a 1, 3 or 5 FPS frame rate before the PIR sensor detects motion. The 4MP Altas includes ColorX night vision for excellent night recording in color. I’ve found the IR sensor to be very accurate with almost no false triggers. The Altas B630 records stray cats, possums, rabbits and squirrels that frequent visitors to our yard, which is up against a wooded area. I positioned the camera 25 feet from my Reolink Home Hub yet I’ve have had no signal loss as it’s a Dual-Band camera. The Reolink Home Hub also makes retrieving stored clips a breeze, with no delay in viewing or downloading clips from anywhere. The Altas B630 includes a 20,000 mAh rechargeable battery for months of use per charge. I used a Reolink 12v solar panel left over from one of my other cameras, so I’ll never have to worry about charging the camera. Setup was simple in the Reolink app by simply scanning the QR Code on the camera. I have three other Reolink cameras an the app makes it easy to monitor all cameras. With “Hey Google” Smart Home integration, I can monitor my cameras on both my Nest Home Hubs and my Google TV using a simple voice command. The camera includes a 64GB memory card!

Reolink 2K Outdoor Battery Camera
I've had my Reolink 2K Outdoor Battery Camera for a little over two weeks now, and I find it to be a excellent camera. I was hesitant about a battery powered camera, worried about recharging but it's doing really well and I can order a solar panel if necessary. The setup was easy. No drilling for wires. had it mounted and connected to my Wi-Fi in less than ten minutes. What's more, the battery life is surprisingly robust. Not having to purchase a subscription or rely on cloud account is nice. The 2K resolution is a step up from my old 1080p camera. Details on faces and license plates are much clearer. The night vision is also excellent; the color night vision (when the spotlight comes on) is effective. The person/vehicle detection is the good though. It's not perfect a neighborhood cat or a very close up bush sway still occasionally triggers it but it filters out probably 90% of the useless "wind blowing leaves" alerts I used to get. Getting a notification that says "Person Detected" instead of just "Motion" is so much more useful and cuts down on the anxiety of false alarms. I had to pick one thing its that the camera takes a second or two to wake up and start recording after a motion trigger. Sometimes the very beginning of an event is cut off. It’s a small trade off for the convenience of no wires.

Reolink has upped their game
I love Reolink cameras and this one is my 12th. Because it is battery operated, I was able to place it on my privacy fence with no cords or cables. Time will tell if the batteries last as long as advertised but the quality of the video is excellent. Even in the dark without the IR lights, the picture is amazing. Reolink has upped their game from already being good. The setup was super easy. It connected to my wifi in seconds. The field of view is 110 degrees which is sufficient for where I have it. I think I will look for a next gen 180 degree or PTZ camera to replace some of my other cameras because I really like the quality on this on over the older Reolink cameras I have.
