Ninja - Double Oven Pro Smart XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer - Stainless Steel

The Ninja Double Oven Pro Smart XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer is a convenient way to cook multiple foods at once. It is Stainless Steel for a modern look and will fit in any kitchen. Dials and buttons at a minimum, and simple controls make it easy to use. You get a toaster, oven (regular and convection), and an air-fryer all in one. The top and bottom can do different types of cooking at one. If the bottom oven is on, the top over gets some heat, but not enough to affect cooking with it. The dual timing feature can also make meals come out hot and ready at the same time. The overall dimensions are about the same as any large toaster oven. The oven comes with the trays and plates you’ll need for both ovens. The top is for toasting, broiling, reheating and keeping food warm. The bottom is an air fryer, oven, and convection oven with modes for air roasting and roasting larger items. Since this item has two ovens, large items may not fit in the bottom, bigger, one compared to a single toaster oven. The top is great for toast, waffles, bagel, baking, etc. The bottom is for larger items and air-frying. Operating either oven is simple. Power on the unit, select the over to use, turn the oven specific dial to the desired operation. Then select modifiers like temperature, time, or how dark you might want bread. The digital readouts will show the time remaining, temperature, darkness of toast etc for the oven they are next too. Just a few buttons and a dial to control everything. The temperatures all seemed to be accurate whether baking, toasting or cooking. Results were always evenly done. In addition to independent operation, the ovens can be set to finish at the same time. So, you air-fry and bake at the same time having the dishes finish at the same time with Smart Finish button in the middle of the oven controls. A great feature when needed. The oven has worked great in all its settings so far. Be careful with the tray accessories, as some are not dishwasher safe. The unit will also let you know when it’s hot and still cooling down after use. Before first use, clean and then set it on high for 15-20 minutes. Burning off the smell from manufacturing is not something you want in your food. After that, it works well and if you have multiple dishes will save you time.

The Ninja double oven pro comes bundled with two wire racks, two bake pans, a crumb tray, and an air fryer basket. Two guides are also included. One is a small full color guide containing usage tips, cooking guidelines, and recipes. The other is a black and white detailed user guide. Oven dimensions measured at 18-inches wide, 16-inches deep (including handles), and 14-inches high. The power cord measures 32-inches long and requires a three-prong outlet. The top oven can bake, broil, toast, warm and reheat. The convection equipped bottom oven can air fry, convection bake, roast, air roast, and has a dedicated pizza setting. There is no convection in the top oven. Both ovens can be used independently or in sync with the smart finish feature. Operation is straightforward and the majority of the controls are easy and intuitive to use. We were able to figure out most controls on our own, although we read the manual for guidance on any unfamiliar controls like smart finish and to ensure we were operating the oven correctly. Both ovens each have two small buttons for setting time and temp along with a dial on each for setting any desired options and to start/stop cooking. The temp and time buttons on the top oven can also adjust temp/time by desired shade and number of slices during toaster oven use. The smart finish button activates a feature that syncs the two ovens to finish cooking at the same time. For example, if one oven is set to cook for 30 minutes and the other is set to cook for 15 minutes, the oven with the shorter cooking time will hold for 15 minutes before beginning to cook. This ensures both ovens finish cooking at the exact same time without any further user intervention. There are two additional buttons on the bottom oven that control power and lighting for both ovens. Heat on exterior oven surfaces can get quite warm or hot, particularly on the top. Whenever the oven is used, the word "Hot" is displayed on the LCD panel as a warning until it cools down. One thing we found odd is that the air fryer preheats. This differs from our previous air fryers which began cooking immediately. Other modes also utilize preheating but some cooking modes like broil, toast, bagel and keep warm don't require preheating. Whenever using smart finish, only the longer timed oven preheats. The shorter timed oven starts cooking immediately once the times sync regardless of the selected mode. The air fryer works well and cooks foods quickly without burning as long as the temperature and/or cooking time are appropriate. Both ovens maintain stable cooking temperatures during baking and foods are thoroughly and evenly cooked throughout. We haven't encountered any cold spots or uneven cooking with our foods when prepared correctly. The recipe book provides several delicious meal options that can be cooked utilizing both ovens and also instructs how to properly use different cooking features like smart finish. The first time we used smart finish, the bottom oven appeared to wait for the top, but when I went to the kitchen to check the food, I discovered the top oven was still cooking but the bottom oven had turned off. I had to restart the bottom oven manually to cook the food that was still inside. I was fortunate to notice it around the time it should have started anyhow, so not much time was lost. I realized after the fact that I apparently pushed the bottom dial in the incorrect sequence which caused the bottom air fryer to never sync and it eventually powered off automatically after 10 minutes of standby. Since becoming more familiar with using smart finish, we haven't experienced that particular issue again. We are happy with the performance of the Ninja double oven pro. Coming from a single combo oven/air fryer, this dual-oven combo has become very popular in our household. There is no more waiting for the oven to become available if it is already in use. It also makes cooking quicker and more efficient by providing two ovens that can be synced to finish together. No more guessing how to cook two different foods with different temp/time requirements simultaneously. If chicken nuggets take 20 minutes at 380 degrees and tater tots have to air fry for 10 minutes at 350 degrees, I can load both, set the respective mode/time/temp and have them properly cooked and ready together. The oven takes up slightly more countertop space than the previous model, but the convenience of having two independent or collaborative ovens at our disposal makes the tradeoff worth it.

I’m a long time fan of Ninja appliances. From blenders to smokers, Ninja always delivers. I shouldn’t be too surprised then by how solid the Ninja Double Oven Pro is! The build quality feels great, with a solid stainless steel finish, smooth door action, and stylish and intuitive controls. It’s a larger unit but looks great on the counter. The style is clean and modern. Expect the feel of a premium tech appliance without looking bulky. What makes it stand out is the dual oven design. Having two independent cooking zones is genuinely useful because I can toast or reheat in the top while air frying or roasting in the bottom. It also uses QuartzHeat elements (on top) for fast heating, and the 12 different cook options adds a lot of flexibility for bake, broil, toast, pizza, air fry, roast, and keep warm modes. All the modes I tested were great. However, I do think the Air Fry mode is a little underpowered. I’ve used other similar products that seemed to cook a bit faster. Ease of use is another big win. The controls are simple to learn, preheats quickly, and cleanup is easy with the crumb tray (on top) and two included removable sheet pans. I’m not a huge fan of the air fry basket. It might be one of the more challenging accessories to clean. Something about the thin wire mesh that really hangs on to food and creates and pretty tough surface to keep clean. Overall, it feels well designed, powerful, and gets an absolute recommended “buy” from me!

Don't let the small size fool you. The Ninja Double Oven Pro Smart XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer is a powerhouse, and we love it. This is our second Ninja Double Oven, and the improvements are immediately apparent. Beginning on the front panel, there are stainless round handles, one for each oven, that have a very premium feel and appearance. The backlit text on the control panel makes it much easier to identify and select cooking options. Each oven has its own single-knob rotary/push to select. It is very intuitive and makes choosing mode, time and temperature super simple. Both oven interiors have their own light placed high on the rear wall. It is very easy to view cooking progress. The upper oven uses quartz heating elements that heat very quickly and radiate heat very evenly. Load the top rack with bread slices, and just a couple of minutes later you have perfect slices of toast. My personal favorite in the top oven is bagels. The way it somehow toasts the outside crisp while maintaining the tender interior makes for a delicious bite. The lower oven is a more traditional convection oven that doubles as an air fryer. Ninja has been the leader in air fryers for years, and that experience really pays off. Load the included basket with French fries and you’re soon rewarded with perfectly crisp treats. The air fryer basket is now my go-to for reheating leftovers. The way air circulates in the lower oven means quick, even heating. For messier reheats – say a slice of lasagna – a sheet of parchment lining the floor of the basket means effortless cleanup. As (bad) luck would have it, our kitchen oven failed shortly after getting the Ninja Double Oven. Waiting for the replacement wasn’t so bad. The Ninja Double Oven filled in perfectly and gave us the opportunity to get to know Smart Finish. You can set the time and temperature of each oven and, using Smart Finish, the 7-minute mozzarella sticks in the top oven are done at the same time as the 30-minute chicken breast in the lower oven. We love this appliance. The included manual contains several enticing recipes that really serve as an inspiration. Be sure to peruse its pages. It gave me some ideas for adapting some old family standbys to the smaller, more efficient oven. My wife’s trusted brownie recipe turned out delicious and gooey, just like I like it. “Versatile” is the word that comes to mind when I try to think of a concise description of the Ninja Double Oven Pro Smart XL. It truly is a jack of all trades that hasn’t let us down. I enthusiastically recommend it.

I actually picked this up for my mother in law who has a non functioning stove which she doesn't want to fix and was getting by on a much older, smaller Ninja basic air fryer but was limited by its size and functionality. She loved it, but just wasn't advanced enough for some of her other cooking needs. Enter the Ninja XL.... We surprised her with it for an early Mother's Day gift and to say she was touched was an understatement. Even better, she LOVES it. After setting it up which was an absolute breeze, the digital controls are a nice upgrade to her older model. First thing she wanted to try was making a "proper" frozen pizza in the oven vs trying to cook it in pieces in her toaster or shoehorning it into her older air fryer and the pizza came out perfect. The ability to cook potatoes and other items that work better in a wider, flatter "oven" type setting but using the air fryer portion has worked really well and allowed her to go back to traditional oven style cooking for dishes and side dishes. She lives alone, so her portion sizes fit perfectly for her with some extra even. The combination of both a small oven AND an even better capable air fryer has her completely satisfied (and some new meals now being sent home for us is an added bonus). Any downsides? None so far. It has been tested for breakfast, lunch and dinner so far and has passed all with flying colors. It is a bit large, and as a test before taking it to her, we put it under our cabinets in the kitchen to see and it can swallow a small counter real quick, but her counters are larger and open and it fits perfect and looks terrific. We actually use a Ninja air fryer ourselves as does my brother and we all love their line up. This is yet another winner from Ninja especially if you want dual functionality of a traditional oven and air fryer.
