This compilation from the Echo Bridge Home Entertainment banner presents four distinct military-themed documentary series, each one pertaining to a distinct branch of the United States Armed Forces: the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Marines. Per its title, Army in Action travels inside of the Army, the oldest and biggest branch of the USAF, and looks at its unique history in three installments: "The Winds of Chance," "The Three Faces of Evil" and "Flames on the Horizon." The second series, History of the United States Navy, presents a series of installments ("The Civil War, Part 1 and 2," "End of the Civil War to WWII," "World War II at Sea" and "The Cold War Navy") that evaluate how the USN has protected American shores over time. The third series, Air Force Stories, charts the history of the modern air force, from the late 19th century through the early 21st Century, in several chapters: "The Beginning: 1898-1930," "After the War: 1918-1923," "Struggle for Recognition: 1923-1930," and "The Air War Starts: 1939-December 7, 1941." Finally, the series Uncommon Valor: Marines in Combat traces the 200+ year history of the United States Marines, in segments including "Pelileu," "Iwo Jima," "Okinawa" and "After the A-Bomb," and examines how the Marines have trained various individuals to participate in the most elite fighting team on the planet.
